Pretty Little Studio - Life Is Tough

Sometimes creating requires a little kick start. No worries! Pretty Little Studio has you covered. Every Tuesday we have an inspiration photo to get your mojo flowing. Here's the pic for today!

So what do you see? I'm seeing lots of interesting things.. the cactus, letter "A".. oh and how about all that black and white .. especially the zig zags on the pillow!? I see lots of neutrals in the white and some browns .... and lots and lots of texture!

I think it's time to break out the "Here Comes The Sun" Collection. It has a little bit of everything I'm looking for starting with the "Polka Dance - Black" dotted paper in the background. I was looking for something a little heavier for the bottom of the card - something black and white zig zag to pick up on the pillow elements. I found a scrap of paper from the Silly Monkey Collection that fit the bill perfectly!

The cacti are and sentiment are mounted on a Coffee Break Journaling 3 x 4" Card. The set includes 8 cards that are perfect for layering (two of them are gold foil!). The one I chose has a watercolor painted stripe in green that I thought would compliment the color of the cacti.

The collection has lots of die cut images and sentiments that make crafting a breeze. Just select the ones you like and adhere them to your project. The Cacti, leaf and fun sentiment are from the Die Cut set called "Cactus" .

The finishing touch was a few sequins from the Confetti | Peppermint Mix. They were the perfect shade of green. You can find them on sale right now too for $1.50 a package! But you better hurry!

My daughter graduated college this past May and she's still looking for a place to put her new skills to work. This card will remind her that no one said it would be easy, and keep at it. I know she's tough and she can do this!
