Waltingmouse Gift Card It Release Today!

Have you been enjoying the peeks of the latest Waltzingmouse Release Gift Card it?  There are so many great things you can create with this set.  The stamp set and dies officially hit the Waltzingmouse web store today and to celebrate the design team is having a blog hop.  If you are hopping along you should have reached me from Anya Schrier's blog.  If you are just getting here and want to start at the beginning you can get a complete list and details at Claire Brennan's blog - Waltzingmouse Makes.

I made two projects for today.  With the first I mixed the new Gift Card It set with the Big Blooms Chrysanthemums.  I wanted to show you how well the new and the old mix together.  The frame from the Gift Card it Set fits an A2 4.25 x 5.5" card perfectly and looks beautiful with just about any of the existing sets.
I also made a simple little gift card  holder for an engagement.  It was super easy to make.  I cut a piece of card stock 2 3/4 x 8", folded it in half, embossed the cover, die cut the back for the gift card insert, and added a few embellishments.  The fancy script from Big Day Additions, along with the embossing and a bit of ribbon make this look rich and expensive.

The next stop on the hop is Jen Cuthbertson  - you're going to love her trendy, eclectic style.  Oh, but before you go please make sure you leave a comment.  One random winner will be chosen from all the comments left on the hop to win a free stamp set of their choice!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

12 Kits of Occassions - SNOW

Here's my favorite way to wrap up the month!  It sort of makes saying good bye to February a celebration really.  The 12 Kits of  Occasions is a group of 12 friends who just happen to be addicted to paper crafting.  Every month one of us packs up a bunch of supplies - patterned paper, stamped images, embellishments like ribbon, die cuts and gems for the rest of the group.  On the last day of the month we all post our creations that we made.  It's always interesting to me to see how different we all interpret the kit.

Sometimes I receive an item I'm not sure what to do with or struggle to put in my design.  I think this month it's going to be the wooden snowman.  He didn't give me any trouble but I'm anxious to see what the rest of the ladies did with it.
Our hostess this month is Renee Lynch from It's a Patchwork Life.   Just look at all the wonderful goodies she packed in this kit for us.  I would call Renee a CAS gal, but oh my!!!   She totally thought of everything in this kit.  Seriously .... whatever your style ...   you would have no problem here!  We received Crate Paper Patterened Paper, Sparkly sequins, Ribbon, Glittery Die Cuts and oh so much more!!     I try to not add too many extras to the kit and use only what I've been given - that wasn't too hard this time.    It was so easy to make lots of cards. I actually had to stop myself  from making more!  So you've been warned lots of photos here!   We usually switch up the theme every month.  This time it's all about SNOW!

A complete list of designers and ingredients can be found on the 12 Kits of Occassions Blog - there's a sneak peek for each designer so you can quickly see their style and links so you can hop to their blogs!  We also have a guest designer this month Judy Marino!  I hope you will give her a big hello!  You might also win an upcoming kit so you can  play along with us!

CASE #180 - Thankful for You

I don't know about you but WOW has this week just flown by for me!  I've been keeping so busy I forgot what day it was!  I think it was my son being home sick on Monday - it put me a day behind.  Isn't that strange how one little thing can throw off your whole "inner clock"?     Well Happy Thursday!  You know what that means right?  A new challenge at CASE Study!

Our muse this month is Danielle Flanders and she is totally rocking it!!.  As usual, I'm learning lots and trying more new things. Check out the inspiration photo for this week.  Use the photo to inspire you to make something.  So what do you see that you like here?  The little open window frame?  The pin?  The color Scheme?  Ahhhh... the stamping on the bottom layer and the die cuts on top of that?  How about the wood grain on the frame, or the scallop edge borders?  Choose what you like and roll with it!

I loved the open window frame and made sure to pick a die with some open spaces to let the background peek through.  I also loved the stamped background and that round flower die cut.  I switched that up to leaves and a bright colored button that would contrast with the background.  Did you notice the button sentiment is the same shape as the sentiment inside the frame - a banner?

Did you need a little more inspiration or maybe you're just curious to see what the rest of the DT did with this design.  Click on their names to hop to their blogs.

Our special guest designers this month (Yes there are two!!)  are May Park and Caryn Davies!

Waltzingmouse Gift It Blessings

Hi and thanks for stopping by!  It's day 3 of the Waltingmouse Stamps "Gift It" Release.  Today the design team is showing different ways you can use the set and dies other than for gifting. Today I made a card featuring the frame outlines from the set along with a sentiment from Country Labels 4, and an image from Nordic Spring.   I'm always amazed at how well all the Waltzingmouse Sets work together.   The frame is perfect for an A2 size card (4.25 x 5.5").

I hope you're not getting tired of the white ink on kraft, but I'm stuck on it and couldn't get it out of my head.   Since the gift card die has rounded corners I rounded the corners on the outer layers - I used a 3/8" punch.
Want to see more ways you can use the set?  Here's a list of the DT ladies who are showing samples today!

Make sure you stop by tomorrow when the stamp and dies hit the shoppe.  We'll be celebrating with a blog hop and some goodies up for grabs!

Waltzingmouse Gift Card It Stamps and Envelope

Thanks for stopping by!  For the next few days the Waltzingmouse Design Team is sharing projects made with the new release that is due to hit the shoppe on Friday.  Today we're showing you projects made with the new Gift Gift Card It stamp set and envelope die.
The die makes the perfect size envelope to slip the little gift card into.   Imagine the possiblities - your own envelopes made from patterned paper, or from paper you inked up yourself... custom made for any occasion!

I'm hooked on the kraft and white combo - I made these little gift cards  to slip into a matching envelope.
I inked up the stamps with white pigment ink and colored them up with Sakura Souffle pens.
These envelopes also make a nice addition to a card so you can slip in a personal note or even a gift for a little shopping spree if you like.
I stamped the envelope with Versamark ink for a watermark look using some of the accent pieces from the set - the leaves and berries.    I stamped them in colored ink on the little gift card.

Want to see more designs made with the release today?  Here's a list of the ladies showing projects with the new releases today!

Stop by tomorrow to see more projects featuring the new Gift Card It Stamp and Die Sets.   Have a great day!

Waltzingmouse Gift Card It Stamp & Die Set Preview

Hi Friends!  I have some really exciting news to share with you today!  There's a new Waltzingmouse Release that hits the shoppe on Friday and I'm happy to be sharing in some of the sneak peeks today.   So what do we have planned?  Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday we are showing sneak peeks, and on Friday when the stamps hit the shoppe we'll be celebrating with a blog hop and offering up a free set to one lucky commenter.    Today we're showing you the new "Gift Card It" Stamp and Die Set.
Warning:  Photo heavy post ahead!    The Gift Card It stamp set and dies have absolutely everything you need to make gift card holders and even some gift cards of your own.  There are some super cute sentiments and lots of little accent stamps that Waltzingmouse is so well known for.  I know.. enough... just get to the pictures right?  OK!    I made a little accordion book with some hand made gift cards.  The Gift Card it die set makes it easy to slip in the gift cards and make everything look clean and professional.   Here's close up's of each of the pages and cards.
I stamped the laurel frame in white pigment ink and colored in the leaves with Sakura Souffle pens for a soft pastel look.  The set comes with a berry stamp, but I drew in a few little dots of my own.
You can't see the gift card in this photo, it promises "Breakfast in Bed" !  The gift card die is a "window" die so it's easy to place over your stamped image to make cutting perfect each and every time.
And here's the finished project so you can see how it all came together.
Want to see more?  Check out projects from the other ladies with sneak peeks for you today!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you come back tomorrow for more sneak peeks from Waltzingmouse!

The Card Concept #4 - Pink Flowers

Talk about more crazy weather here in the Chicago area!  Rain and thunderstorms all day yesterday.  The good news?  The rain is melting the snow.  The bad news?  The rain is melting the snow!  HAHA!  It's true though.. lots of flooding reported on the news!    I'm ok.  II'm glad to see the snow disappear.  It's been hanging around way too long and snow shouldn't be grey - it should be white if you know what I mean!

Today I'm playing along with The Card Concept.  Take a look at the inspiration photo this time!  Gorgeous isn't it?   That's what I said!  So I didn't change a thing.  A lovely bouquet of pink flowers for you today!  So glad I got this set from Papertrey - it looks just like the flowers in the inspiration photo.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you have a great weekend!

CASE Study #179 Thanks

Hi Friends!   The great thaw is still in action here.  Lots of melting snow and sun shining.  I've even spotted Robins back in the yard.  Does that mean it's officially Spring now?  Well .. I'm not falling for it.  If I've learned anything living in the Chicago area it's that weather is very unpredictable.  It wouldn't surprise me to find myself in a blizzard by Saturday HAHA!!!

Since it's Thursday there's a new challenge at Case Study.  I'm enjoying the inspiration photos from none other than  Danielle Flanders of Homespun from the Heart!  I love seeing her projects at Papertrey Ink!   She's got a beautiful clean and layered style.   Here's the inspiration photo for this week.  So what do you see?  You know the drill.. focus on the elements you like and then make it your own.    Sometimes it's easy to see where I got my inspiration and other times.. not so much.  So do you see it?  Well obviously it wasn't the soft pastel colors!!   Yes!  I took the die cut word set on an angle, and I grabbed the stars and turned them into flowers.

Want a little more inspiration?  Or maybe you're just curious to see what direction the DT ladies too this one?  Just click on their names below to jump to their blog.

SSCB#28 Sheet Music or Newsprint - Thistle Birthday

Are you playing along with the Serendipity Stamps Challenge?  This month the challenge is to create a project with your favorite Serendipity Stamps image or die and to include some sheet music or newsprint on your design.    Just link up your design here and you could win $20 off your next order!  Everyone is a winner though because the sale this time is buy 3 items get your 4th item free.   The sale runs through 2-26.

The design team made all their cards featuring a color blending techinque.  I used Ranger distress inks to create the warm red, orange, yellow background for my butterfly and thistle.   First I stamped the image in Versamark Ink, and embossed it with clear embossing powder.  Then I applied the distress inks one at a time, starting with the lightest in the center, and the darker on the outer edges.
To add a little sparkle I used a Sakura Quickie Glue pen, drew some dots, allowed the glue to dry and then applied gold perfect pearls.

Want to see more projects from the design team?  Just click on their names below to jump to their blog.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a beautiful day!
