XOXO Love

I hope you had a great weekend! We visited my Dad and got my Mom out of the house for a few hours and went chair shopping. My Dad's heart failure is pushing fluid to his legs and he needs to keep his legs elevated. We're hoping a new chair helps!
Today's the last day to play along at Freshly Made Sketches. Here's the sketch and now my entry...
I flipped the design to make a horizontal card. The Simple Strips die cut topped with the Pretty Pink Posh XOXO's represent the solid block at the top of the design.
The sweet girl from Friends Forever represents the circle in the sketch. The sentiment is placed under the design just like the sketch.
I like a busy layered background so I stenciled the Layered X and hearts with Distress Ink. Pixie Spray is always my go to for a light tack stencil adhesive.
The finishing touch is a few Sparkling clear dots because you have to have a little bling on Valentines Day!

Holiday Sweets and Treats

I'm sharing a card today made with the newest collection from Pretty Little Studio! It's called Sugar Plum! Its everything you'd expect - beautiful shades of red and green, complete with Nutcrackers and adorable little mice!
I started with a pink plaid background paper that I topped with a journaling card to create a clean focal point. I added some punch out borders along the right edge. They come in lots of colors and in two different sizes. I think they look great stacked!

This collection has faux stitching stickers perfect for adding trims along the edges of your card like I did above.

I added a ticket stub to the top, and a gorgeous floral embellished candy with adhesive foam tape to the center of the journaling card.
I hope you'll explore this new collection in the store! It has all the extras for embellishing and making your cards come together quick!

Sending You A Love Letter

Hi! Thanks for stopping by! I hope you're having a good day! I'm playing along today at Hand Stamped Sentiments where they're looking for projects that are inspired by their mood board!
So today I've got a VALENTINE to share!
My card starts with a half and half cardstock background of pink and red. I topped the background with a square pierced die cut to look like a doily for the feminine floral die cuts.
I topped the scalloped square with the Waffle Flower Love Letter die cut. I cut it from black cardstock and then used scraps to cut each of the little pieces and inlay them.
I used different shades of each color group for the florals to add depth and give a stained glass look to the design.
The sentiment is from the Love Letter Labelmaker Sentiment set. I love the die cut that cuts SEVERAL sentiments all at the same time so you can do more faster!

I hope you find some time to play today! I've been overdue! Hugs!

My Creative Scrapbook January 2023

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you're having a great day! If you're looking for a great way to treat yourself I hope you consider trying a subscription to one of the My Creative Scrapbook monthly kits. They select the pattern paper and lots of coordinating supplies and deliver it straight to your front door so all you have to focus on is MAKING! Every month they have several kits to choose from.. their Main Kit, LE - Limited Edition, Creative Kit and Album Kit - so you can choose what's right for you!
This time I'm working with the January Creative Kit. This kit includes die cuts, stickers, stencil and premium 12" papers from Vicki Boutin's Print Shop Collection. I love that every month there are collections from my favorite brands and that the papers are original weight designer papers - no thin flimsy paper here!
I love Vicki Boutin's eclectic style. She has a great way of mixing and matching images that are unrelated that you might not think would work together but ultimately do. Like the office themed paper clips, ledger print, file tabs and pockets mixed together with elements from nature like the butterflies and florals.
I love Vicki Boutin's taste for color too - it's right in line with my favorites.. bright colors that almost always include the entire rainbow! Of course there are dramatic pops of black and gold to add some striking contrast.
What you'll love about the kit, no matter what collection is selected for you, is the premium papers, and the quantity of images that make creating easy. You'll have lots of embellishments to choose from for lots of possibilities for your designs.
The kits always include lots of sentiments too so you'll be able to make lots of cards or pages for documenting your favorite memories. The papers in the kits are 12" so you're not limited to any particular papercraft.
As a card maker I like to break down the 12" sheets. I cut apart the tags and journaling cards (depending on the kit) and the 12" papers into 6" squares. The smaller sheets make it easier for me to see all the prints when I lay out the papers on my desk.
The only things I added to this kit are the adhesives, card bases, envelopes and the solid cardstock matts that frame the layouts. Everything else you see on my designs is included in the kit this month. I didn't even need to add any bling this time because there are lots of little circle chipboard pieces that remind me of sequins.
I invite you to join one of their monthly scrapbook kit clubs and experience the possibilities our coordinated kits offer. With plenty of innovative materials and ideas to jump start your imagination, preserving your memories and making cards will be effortless and enjoyable.

Spellbinders Card Kit - January 2023

It's a new year and we're celebrating the NEW Spellbinders CLUB Kits with a blog hop and a great giveaway!  If you're hopping along you should have reached me from Teri Duncan's blog.  If you'd like to start at the beginning and get all the details, you'll find them here at the Spellbinders Blog.  Spellbinders has lots of different kits and I'm guessing that you'll find one that s perfect for you.  There's a Small Die of the Month, Large Die of the Month, Stitching Die, Glimmer, Stamping, 3D Embossing, and my favorite the Quick and Easy Card Kit!
A subscription for $29.50 a month provides a fabulous Quick & Easy Card Kit filled with LOTS of supplies to work with including a pattern paper pad, stickers, die cuts, and lots more.

With the new year comes a few changes to the kit. You might notice the price is about $10 less than last year. That's because the die kit and stamp set that were included in the past will no longer be in the kit. I think this is a good idea because honestly I never really used the stamps because there are so many sentiments in the kit. I will miss the die but for the savings it seems like a good trade off.
This month's kit feels appropriate for January. The images include lots and lots of potted house plants, a teacup and kettle, sun shine and book shelves. Ways to bring nature inside and enjoy the time spent indoors.

The kit includes a pack of chipboard frames that are great for shakers, making window scenes, or creating focal points for your designs.

The papers are perfect for indoor scenes too.. wood paneling, and prints sized perfectly for wallpaper.

I love the shelves to hang on "walls", and rugs to adorn the pattern paper carpeting/flooring.

Every kit includes some kind of bling. This time there are faceted gems dusted with gold for lots of sparkle and shine.

There are a few "occasions" ornaments, but you'll also find inspirational sentiments designed to make your recipient smile. There's even a few "punny" sentiments that correspond with the plants.
Ready to see more projects made with the January 2023 Club kits from Spellbinders? Your nest stop is Sara Lihz Staroska, but before you go PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT - There's a giveaway you wont want to miss!

Giveaway:

To celebrate this release, we are giving away a $25 gift certificate to 3 lucky blog readers – selected from the comments on our blog. Giveaway closes on Sunday, January 22nd, 11:59 pm MST. The winner will be announced in this blog hop post the following Wednesday. The winner is responsible for shipping costs, duties, and taxes.

Please note, store credit (gift certificate) cannot be applied to Club Subscriptions. Store credit can be applied to shop past Club products, Club extras and regular releases.

Here's the complete hop list for today!
