Today I'm playing along at Cupcake Inspirations where it's Red White and Blue.

It's been a tough week here. With the weather quality so horrible from the Canada wildfires, I'm trying to spend more time indoors but I'm missing the sunshine and the garden!

Hobbies are always a good thing to occupy the mind. Reading is another great hobby and I love that I can mix a few of my favorite things in one place.

I started with the Pink and Main One For The Books stamp set. I inked the books and then layered them over the Fancy Oval With Bow that makes a gorgeous focal point!

The pretty papers are from the Sunrise Paper Pack. The finishing touch is a sprinkle of sparkly gems!

My Creative Scrapbook June Kit

This collection relates to everyday life. You'll find images for your desktop including books, mugs, writing utensils, and arts supplies. There's also a little motivation for your mojo.. caffeinated mugs and coffee makers!

The paper prints are plaids, stripes, florals and hearts. They're mostly soft pastels with a bit of darker shades in complimentary colors. I found the prints really helpful for scene cards - like plaids for desktops and lighter prints for "wallpaper" backgrounds.

There are lots of sentiments in die cuts and stickers. I even cut a few sentiments from the printed paper to add to the designs.

Once your designs are laid out it's time for the embellishments. The collection has several round embellishments as well as different types of paper clips.

Everything you see on my cards is included in the kit EXCEPT for the white cardstock card bases, solid cardstock cover matts, adhesives and enamel dots. Things that you already probably have in your stash right now.

You'll have fun making cards or documenting memories with this kit. No matter what your style too. I love to make scene cards, but collage, mixed media, clean and simple, layered..... whatever your style you make this kit yours!

Brighter Days Are Ahead

Today I'm playing at Moving Along With The Times and Pearly Sparkles Challenge Blog where they're both looking for one or more butterflies.

I thought I'd go CAS - Clean and Simple today with this card featuring the Pink & Main's Brighter Days stamp set. First I swiped the new TWINKLE ink in rainbow shades to create a background. These new inks are dye based - meaning they sink into the paper, and leave behind a gorgeous sparkly shimmer.

I topped the rainbow stripes with a clean butterfly and sentiment that I stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink. This ink always leaves a crisp impression on any detailed stamp.

The finishing touch is a few gold jewels that come on a sheet complete with sticky adhesive so just peel and stick.

Turtley Awesome!

Today I'm playing along at Lost Coast Portal to Creativity where this time it's Nobody Here! Make a project with no humans. This sweet under water scene is just the ticket!

I started with an alcohol ink background. Something I don't normally use because I find it very messy. Alcohol ink does not come out of your clothes kids! Be prepared! When I do make with alcohol ink I make SEVERAL panels on YUPO at a time. It is fun and beautiful but you really need a big clean clear space to work in especially if you're using air to move your ink around.

Background made check! Time to add the die cuts to create a fun underwater scene. The Happy Turtles are from Waffle Flower and oh so easy to assemble by stacking your cuts.

The seaweed and smaller fish complete the scene. I gave them all silly eyes to add a touch of whimsy to my design. Are they looking at you?

You Are AMAZING !

Today I'm playing along at A Place To Start. It's a new year and they're kicking things off with RAINBOWS! You don't have to add an actual rainbow.. just use rainbow colors if you like.

This is a clean looking card with lots of great details. I started with the You Are Foilable Panel from Pink and Main and laminated it with Starry Rainbow Cheerfoil. Can you see all the little stars?

I made a medal from a Foilable circle from the Ball Cap pack. The ribbons are made from sentiment strips cut from gold and gold glitter paper. The finishing touch is a sprinkle of gold gems.

Hands down the Minc foiling machine is my favorite way to foil. It is clean and seamless and I never have to do more than one sheet. You can use the negative side with a toner sheet, and you can even make your own custom panels if you have a laser printer.
