Sending Seeds of Joy

Today I'm playing along at Just Us Girls Challenge Blog where it's Anything Goes with a Stencil!  I'm also linking up to Time Out Challenge where this time the cue words are Mother Nature.   I think half the fun of planting a garden is the miracle of watching a seed turn into a plant and then watching the flowers turn into fruits and veggies! 

Fun fact about me is that I'm a gardener so I really loved seeing this set from Waffle Flower Crafts! FIrst you cut out the Postage Collage Seeds Die, and then ink it with the coordinating Setncil.

I topped mine with a white Postage Collage Blocks die. I ink this give the stenciled bits a cleaner look because they're framed. It forgives any little line up errors you might have made.

To make it a little fussier I set it over a striped "air mail" background made with the Postage Collage Coloring Stencil and then cut with an A2 Piercing Layers die for that dotted edge that matches some of the cut outs on the base.

Sending Bubbly Hugs

Today I'm playing at Time Out Challenge where it's all about WATER! I thought my underwater scene would be perfect!

I started by cutting my dies and laying them out on a piece of plastic the size of my card base. The Seafloor Silhouette underwater ruins are from Waffle Flower Crafts!

I had fun adding lots of embellishments.. rocks, starfish, shells and coral. How do you like the little eyes and water bubbles for the fish?

Arranging the design on clear plastic is helpful because I can slip different backgrounds under the design. I loved how this alcohol ink background looked!

Waffle Flower June Release Sneak Peek Day 3

It's day 3 on the countdown to the new Waffle Flower release! All the new product will hit the store TOMORROW! We'll be celebrating with lots of Instagram giveaways so stay tuned!

Today our focus is the new Seed Packet. There is a Postage Collage Seed Packet design and yes! This cute die set! The Seed Packet provides the basic cut out, along with the die cuts for the trims (the parts of the packet that I did in color).

If you look close you'll see more of the detail.. piercing around the center "window" or focal point, striped edge along the bottom and a rustic texture along the top piece.

With the Seed Packet Additions Die set you'll have fruits and veggies for the focal point in the center including strawberries, carrot, pansy and more!

I layered two seed packets on a Dashed Diamond Texture background and added a few Subsentiment strips for a message of love and happiness.

You Are Crab U Lous

Today I'm playing at A Cut Above where ANYTHING GOES but you better include some die cuts because that's the name of the game! I'm a little jealous that my daughter is heading off to my favorite vacation place.. Hilton Head Island in South Carolina and I'm stuck at home! I have so many great memories of vacations there with my children and now she is taking her daughter.

If you love the low country too you'll know all about crabbing. And if you're not crabbing how about heading to the beach with your flashlight at night to catch some ghost crabs? This card is for you!

I started with the Crosshatch Texture background and then added two crabs - a red and a blue along the top and bottom edge of the card. They meet in the middle with a stacked heart and a sweet crabby sentiment.

The crabs are easy to assemble. You just stack the body and claws over the solid bottom layer. I added silly eyes to make them a little more fun. They just make me happy!

And there is one more reason that I love crabs. It's the nick name for my favorite guy! I hope you're smiling!

Picture Perfect

If you're a fan of the Waffle Flower Postage Collage Series you'll be happy to see the latest addition to the collection - the new Postage Collage Frames.

The Postage Collage Frames are a set of stamps that create ornate stamped frames. The coordinating die set cuts out their centers leaving a small white matt edge on the inside. Your Postage Collage stencil images fit perfectly inside the frames.

I inked my frames with Versafine Claire to get a solid detailed inky coverage of the stamps. If you use your Misti you'll have no trouble double stamping to get full coverage on these solid stamps.

The images I selected are from the Postage Collage Picture Perfect Stencil set. The Picture Perfect Detail stamp set adds the lines you see stamped in black that complete or help define the stenciled images.
