Paper Sweeties November Release Day 3 - Treat Bags

It's Day 3 of the Paper Sweeties November Releases.  All the new stamp sets are available in the Paper Sweeties Store today!!!  The design team is sharing some project ideas with the new stamps today and tomorrow as well.  The new November releases feature lots of great Christmas and Holiday sentiments and images to add to your Paper Sweeties collection.
Today I am casing the original Paper Sweetie and Creator Debbie Marcinkiewicz!  When I saw these sweet gift bags she made for Halloween on her blog Simple Treasures  I knew I would have some for holiday giving in the works!  So much eye candy and a beautiful way to give a gift!  It took me a few tries to get it right so I will share my secrets with you.
I bought some small gift bags with handles at Michael's.  There are 13 in a package for $4.99 and I used a 40% off coupon.  I opened the bag and removed one of the handles.  This is easy - it is nested between two pieces of paper and they came off easy - no rips on any of them I did this with.  Next I die cut the window.  I placed my die just inside the flap where the bottom of the bag is folded up and ran it through my die cut machine.  With double sided tape I adhered squares of transparency / acetate to seal off the windows.  Next I folded a doily over the edge of the bag where I removed the handle.  I glued it down on the inside and hot glued the handle back into the bag.  Now for the fun part - decorating!  You can use all sorts of easy pre made holiday embellishments and just about any size bag.  I hot glued a hat pin, ribbon, mulberry flower and some lame string with some jingle bells.  I tucked tissue paper inside the bags - you can leave them open if you want your treats to show through!  Just have fun with it!  They were easy to decorate and very inexpensive.

I think they turned out beautifully and everyone is sure to think I made a big fuss!
