Happy 4th of July!

Summer is heating up and July 4 is just around the corner! I hope you have plans for a summer cookout and maybe a little light show when the stars come out! Today I'm playing along at the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge where they're looking for Red, White and/or Blue!

I'm smitten with the Pretty Pink Posh new Fourth of July Set! My card starts with a craft background that I added some texture paste to. I used a mini polka dot stencil and some light molding paste. To add some solid spaces for my colored images I tore some white core card stock in red and blue and added it to the corners.
  

Now for the fun part! EMBELLISHING! I added fireworks, a sentiment and some banners that were colored with Copic Markers. Some silver jewels make things sparkle and shine like the night time stars!

I had fun stamping with colored ink which is something that I definitely don't do enough! I love that this set includes the "America" word die cut. A simple stamped strip finishes off the sentiment!

Feathered Friends 12

It's another rainy day here in Northwest Indiana.. it seems like it's been a week of rain for us.. lots of dark skies, tornado sirens going off, and yes.. wet weather. Miss Moriko is not happy with all the thunder or the wailing sirens so she's been staying close!   When the sun finally comes through it's hot and humid! A great time to take a break inside and play right?

Today I'm playing along at Cupcake Inspirations where the theme is Oh Birdie. I love the chocolate nest for the little chickies in the photos.. but my mind is still on Summer and bright bold colors. I hope that's ok.. I see lots of different style birds linked up there!

I'm smitten with the Papertrey Ink bird dies! Meet the new Feathered Friends 12! Yes! A beautiful Flamingo!

My cards starts with a Distress Oxide background topped with a Gem Stone die cut. I left all the cut outs in place to add more white to the design. I topped the frame with the flamingo and some pretty florals from the Sidewalk Chalk set.

Stamping the florals with colored ink on colored paper really adds COLOR! Some of the images are adhered flat to the card while others are adhered with adhesive foam tape to add dimension.

Comfy Cozy Grateful Heart

It's been a rainy weekend here in the Midwest! The dark skies and wind rattling the house have me thinking about how lucky I am to be tucked inside comfy and cozy in my craft studio.

Today I'm sharing a card made with the latest Pretty Little Studio collection called Grateful Heart. It's got some fall images - but honestly I think this collection is for all year round. The rich colors and floral images are eye candy.

And how about this sweet cup with the heart floating inside? Does it make you warmer just looking at it?

The collection has lots of pretty wreaths perfect for embellishing with die cut images and stickers. A little foam adhesive pops your images and adds a little drama to your designs with shadow and depth.

Who couldn't use a warm hug? Every day is the perfect day for a sweet note in the mail!

Yippee!

Do you love rainbow stripes? Well you KNOW that I DO! And look at the challenge I found at Time Out Challenges!!!

I spy RAINBOW STRIPES! Looks like a beautiful SUMMER DAY! It's still rainy here in my part of the world (Northwest Indiana) so I'm looking for that rainbow!

My card starts with the Waffle Flower Slimline Angled Panel that I inlayed with lots of colorful stripes in rainbow colors.

I topped the panel with "YIPEE" cut from Tower Outline Alphabet letters. I cut the outline from bright cardstock and the thin detailed letters from white cardstock.

All that was left was to add the cute kids from YIPPEE! Looks like a party right?

Flower Bouquets

Happy Friday! I hope you've got some plans for the weekend. In my part of the world there's all sorts of local festivals going on. Things are a smaller scale .. the church carnival is now a music festival and beer garden.. but it's still a great chance to see some friends that we haven't seen in a while. Mr. J. has been playing bartender and helping out with the electric at the festival.

Today I'm playing along at Daring Cardmakers where they're celebrating the bounty of the garden or your favorite space. My favorite place is my yard.. it's my sanctuary from the busy world. There are lots of flowers in bloom and I have a veggie garden too. This time of year you'll find lilies in all sorts of colors, clematis, daisies and so much more.

I thought the Pretty Pink Posh Flower Bouquets would be just perfect since they're loaded with lots of different florals.

My card starts with a distress ink background covered with a Pretty Petals Panel. Next I layered on TWO Scallop Circles, and arranged the flowers over that. To prevent the little yellow vase to have the appearance of "floating" I added a bitty strip of border like a shelf.

Don't you think that the color purple is so under used? Smiling here!   Have a great weekend and take some time to smell the flowers!
