Create Your Own Rainbow

I'm loving the spring weather, but that always means there's a chance of rain. And whenever it rains, I'm always trying to find a rainbow! When I can't find one outside I know I can make one of my own. That's the best part of crafting... you can go anywhere and make your own weather.

I used the Waffle Flower Slimline Rainbow die to make the card base. I cut each of the rainbow colored stripes from colored cardstock but you could just as easily cut the panel with white cardstock and then color the stripes with Distress Ink or makers.

I added clouds from the Rustic Rainbow die set. I cut them twice - once from white cardstock and once from glitter paper and layered them so just a bit of gold peeks over the edge of the top.
  

The Oversized Rainbow sentiment is no longer available, but the coordinating stamp set is. You could also switch the sentiment with a different word die that's appropriate for your recipient.

Outlined Hearts Shaker

Can you believe it's February? Time is flying lately! I know that the groundhog predicted more winter but I'm starting to see a few signs of spring here. Don't get me wrong... it's cold outside but honest! I saw a group of Robin's today! That's a good sign!

Today I'm playing along Colorful Options where they're looking for PINK and  at Double D Challenges where they've got a heart mood board....

So it's time to make a Valentine! Mine is a shaker made with the Waffle Flower Outlined Hearts die. It's a long die that will fit on an A2 card but I thought it would look better as a mini slimline!

I die cut the Outlined Hearts from white cardstock and then trimmed the panel with Mini Slimline die. I adhered acetate to the back of the panel, and then cut the Outlined Hearts from gold foil paper and adhered the die cut inside the opening on the front of the panel. It's tricky adhering to acetate.... I used mini glue dots to tack the gold die cut in place. The assembled panel is the cover for the shaker.

I added adhesive foam tape on the back of the assembled panel and adhered it to a Distress Inked panel in ombre pink and red that was topped with gold sequins.

I added some sequins to the outside of the design too so it looks like some of the sequins escaped!

Slimline Christmas Tree

I love Christmas! It's just filled with magic! Everywhere you look there's something new to see! What I love most are the unexpected surprises.. a decoration in an unexpected place, a package with a special bow or a card in some unexpected colors.

 

My card started with the Waffle Flower Slimline Christmas Tree. I love color and keeping the cover in plain white just didn't appeal to me so I cut a slightly larger piece of white card stock and applied double sided adhesive to it and started adding colorful cardstock stripes at a slight angle.

The Skinny Stripes die cut made it easy to cut a bunch of strips at one time. You can actually cut 7 strips at a time and the set includes both 4.25 and 5.5" length strips.

When then panel was assembled I cut it with the slimline Christmas Tree die. I inserted solid green triangles to create a tree, and a bright yellow star.

A sprinkle of white snowflakes adds a little contrast along with the sentiment from Holiday Sentiments that's die cut with a stitched rectangle that's also part of the slimline die set.

I love a slimline card.. I have a hard time photographing them so you don't see too many here. This one starts with the Slimline Scallop Frames smaller die in the set. I layered it over a Distress Oxide Inked Panel and then topped it with Colorful Halloween Circles.

The circle images are backed with zig zag stitched circles from the Halloween Circles coordinating die set.

Waffle Flower Birthday Scalloped Circles

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you're having a nice lazy Sunday! Today I'm sharing a bithday card packed with color!

I started with the Waffle Flower Slimline Angled Panel - white on white. I topped it with pretty die cut scalloped circles that remind me of flowers.

The pierced detail on the scalloped circles and the stitching on the slimline panel and the little extras that make things look expensive with their crisp clean lines.

The Happy Birthday sentiment is a fun mixed font that adds a little whimsy to the design. The stamp set has two large birthday sentiments to choose from and the coordinating die cut makes them easy to work with.

I attached the sentiment with foam adhesive tape to add some dimension to the design. You can see it a little better in this photo. Finally a sprinkle of enamel dots are a little eye candy.
