The 12 Kits of Occasions - Smooth Sailing

Ahoy Maties! It's the last day of the month and you know what that means right? It's time for The 12 Kits of Occasions! The 12 Kits of Occasions is a group of 12 friends who all love to paper craft. Every month we take turns making a kit for the rest of the group. We all receive the same kit with the same items. On the last day of the month we reveal what we each made with the kit. It's fun to see how we used the product in different ways. Sometimes the projects are similar and sometimes they are very different.

Our hostess this month is Kim from Cupcakes Cards and Kim! Kim is always ready to lend an ear.. she's the cool Mom who can bake and sew. I commissioned some custom AKITA print bags from her and she made me a star too! Her Etsy page is RunningStitchDesign.  I love taking a Miss Moriko look a like print bag with me whenever I'm away from home! She's a Disney FANatic and she and her daughter like going to rock concerts together! I'm jealous of all that talent and the girl can knock out the cards too!

I really had fun making with the kit. We never made it to the beach this year, and this kit felt like a trip to the ocean. A real treat!

Check out The 12 Kits of Occasions Blog where you'll see a sample from each of the designers as well as a complete list of ingredients that were supplied.

Yo Ho! And Hugs to you!

Simple Stories Boo Crew Collection

Hi friends! Thanks for stopping by! I’m excited to share EIGHT cards I made with the new Simple Stories Boo Crew Collection!
I admit that Halloween is my FAVORITE Holiday and that I am always anxious and excited to see the annual collection revealed!
Now more than ever I think that cards are a great way to keep in touch. I just heard that Trick or Treating is cancelled in my area to help stop the spread of Covid. I plan on sending cards with some treats to my favorite tricksters and I am sure that it will brighten their day.
This collection is only available in the 12” paper size. To make the papers easier to manage I cut them down into 6” squares. The sheet of tags and journaling cards are cut apart, and I lay them all out on my desk so I can see all the patterns and pieces.
I arrange the bits and pieces and chipboard on sheets of clear plastic the same size as my card front. This makes it easy to pick up the entire sheet and lay it over different pattern papers so I can envision my card before I commit and adhere everything in place.
The decorative brads have gotten even easier to work with. The metal prongs on their backs have been replaced by adhesive so they’re easy to stick in place. The sheet even includes a few more chipboard stickers to embellish your creations with.
My favorite part of every Simple Stories Collection is the bits and pieces. I love arranging all the little die cut pieces. Just looking at all they little images puts me in the mood to make! It’s a good thing no one can hear me ooh and ahh as I sort through them.
Everything is perfectly color coordinated so you know all the pieces are going to match and work together seamlessly.
Surprise your favorite boys and ghouls with handmade cards and greetings made with the Simple Stories Boo Crew Collection!

Rainbow Waffle Flower Message Boards

Do you love rainbows? Well I've got a challenge for you! I spotted this inspiration photo at Paper Playful - it's a page that lists just about EVERY challenge out there!

I mean come on! All my favorite colors here! The challenge is called If You Give A Crafter A Cookie and you can find it here.
I'm playing along with this bright and sunny RAINBOW colored card. I started by making a panel of colorful stripes using the Waffle Flower Message Boards Die. I purposely didn't align the edges - I wanted a loose look to the stripes.
Next I cut the "message boards" and applied tape to back of the openings wo when I cut the die again from white card stock I could just insert the letters inside the open holes. The word dies are attached with adhesive foam tape so they stand up from the card base.
I tucked some "greenery" behind the message boards. I love the contrast of the clean white on the rainbow striped panel.
The finishing touch was a sprinkle of sparkly white enamel dots from the Stardust pack. I wish you could see them in person.. they're total eye candy!
I hope you have a great weekend and time to enjoy a little time outdoors!

My Creative Scrapbook September 2020 Kit

I love to make with pattern paper and die cut pieces. It's a treat for the eyes shuffling through the papers and looking through all the pretty printed die cut images and embellishments.
Did you ever wish you had a personal shopper for your craft supplies? Now more than ever I appreciate that My Creative Scrapbook puts together a kit perfect for card making or journaling. The kit includes papers, die cut images and stickers perfectly coordinated to work together. Here's a peek at the September 2020 Main Kit ...
Inside the kit you'll find beautiful papers from Pink Paislee's "And Many More" Collection. There are coordinating stickers, chipboard and die cut pieces You'll also find some glittery alphabet stickers so you can personalize your creations for special recipients.
This kit is all about the birthdays! There are lots of yummy colorful cake images on the papers and included in the stickers.
I love that this kit includes lots of gorgeous florals and shiny foil accents on the papers.
I apply baby powder to the back of the stickers to make them easy to pick up and arrange. When I'm ready to adhere them I add adhesive foam tape or liquid (Ranger Mixed Matt Medium) adhesive to adhere them in place.
This collection is eye candy.. lots of bright bold colors with subtle hints of pink and mint.
It's a total party going on with confetti stickers and stars, cakes, candles, flowers and balloons. I love the pretty prints and fun sentiments!
I'm always happy to add some birthday cards to my collection. Did you know that we send more birthday cards, than cards for any other occasion?

This kit was really a treat to make with. I shared four cards earlier this month, and today I'm showing another 5. I really could have kept going too! These cards seem to have come together on their own. It was a sweet escape!
You can find this amazing kit and lots more ideas for makes - either cards or page layouts - here at My Creative Scrapbook! Click here to go shopping!
Hugs!

Ink Blot Shop Little Something

I told you'd I'd be sharing more of the Ink Blot Shop September release! There are new Landscape and Fallish Borders, Farm Animals and Teacher Greetings in the shop! You'll want to check out all the NEW!
Fall means back to school time.. and whether your little one is learning from home or actually attending class it's so important to let teacher know how much they are appreciated!
I stamped a background of apples and pencils with purple ink on purple paper - I wanted to match the color on the Little Something girl's dress.
I topped the panel with an oval die cut from white card stock to break up the pattern and focus your attention on the Copic colored Little Something kids.
I'm linking this card to Send A Smile 4 Kids challenge where this month they're looking for Fall and Halloween cards for Kids. I hope you find some time to play along!
