Rainbow Leaves

Are you enjoying the beautiful fall weather?  I just love the show Mother Nature is putting on.  I thought a rainbow of pretty leaves was in order.  Here's a peek.

12 Kits - September - Rewind

Welcome to the 12 Kits of Occassions!  We're a group of 12 friends who take turns providing a "kit" to the rest of the group once a month.  The kits are filled with all sorts of wonderful things, pretty papers, die cuts, stamped images and embellishments.  On the last day of the month we all post what we made.  It's always fun to see how our cards will look similar or very different.    So what's with the Rewind?  One of the ladies left the group - so we were left with an extra month.  We decided to revisit some of the older kits, and use up some of the extra supplies that we might have on hand.

So here's where it gets interesting.  I don't have a whole lot of extra supplies left.  I admit I'm not one to think a project all the way through.  Elements get switched around several times in the process before I'm happy with my design.  Oh yes... and there are some casualties of war here.   Sometimes an image doesn't look like I had envisioned it after it's been colored up, other times an element might have gotten glued down in the wrong place and was not so happy to remove itself, and still other times I loose smaller pieces - having to abandon a project to work on a deadline.  I've even had a few casualties from my furry friend who refuses to be ignored.

So here's what I'm getting at - my projects in most cases here today use similar elements, but not products from the original shipments.  I'm using favorite cards from the other ladies as inspiration and putting my own twist on things with other products I had on hand.   I wanted to case all the ladies but wasn't sure you'd be able to handle so many photos. I tried to keep it to a handful to keep it manageable.  I'm going to show you the original, and then mine. I hope you enjoy!

Kelly's original card with the rainbow of paint splatters inspired my thanks card
Kara's Happy Houses inspired this card...

Sharron's Hoppy Easter in Pink

Renee's clean sparkly cut out heart inspired this:

I love how Marybeth embosses in GOLD to makes such elegant cards.

Waltzingmouse Release Day Blog Hop!

Have you been checking out the latest Waltzingmouse release?  Today the DT is celebrating the new products being available in the store with a blgo hop.  If you are hopping you should have reached me from The Stamping Queen (AKA Anya Schrier!).  If you'd like to start from the beginning you can get all the details here at Claire's blog. You will want to check Claire's blog anyway because there is a contest - and she's going to tell you what you need to do to enter to win!

It's designer's choice today so I thought I'd make some snowflake cards for you.  The first is a snow flurry of flakes in lots of bright colors with a paint splatter background.   The snowflakes are from the new Warm Fuzzies Set.
My next card features embossed and die cut snowflakes.
First I debossed the snowflake #1 and #3.  Then I stamped my sentiment from Warm Fuzzies, and added some die cut snowflake #2 on pop dots.  A sprinkle of sequins always makes me happy - so why fight it?  LOL!
Last I have a little gift card envelope made with the smaller stamps from Frosty In The Pines.  This was so fun to stamp and is the perfect way to pass along a little gift card.  I added a little glitter to the trees and snowflakes too.
Next on the hop is Karin Akesdotter - I know she's going to knock your socks off.

Here's a complete list of all the ladies with projects for you today for your convenience.

Waltzingmouse September Release - Warm Fuzzies

It's the third day of the new release peeks for Waltzingmouse Stamps.  The stamps officially hit the store tomorrow.  The DT will be celebrating with a blog hop and there will be some prizes up for grabs.  Today we're showing you the new Warm Fuzzies set.  It features this sweet little birdie with a hear emblazoned on his chest.  The set includes everything you need to make this snowy scene - pine trees, snowflakes, and some sweet sentiments too.
A set of digital cut files make these super easy to stamp, color, and create!  I made this little tag ready for gift giving.  Won't it look great on a package filled with all the fixings for some hot chocolate?  The tag was made with the gift card it die topped with the picot panels cie cut.
Want to see more?  Here's a list of all the ladies with projects for you today!  I hope you'll come back tomorrow - release day - for a blog hop and your chance to win some of these great new stamps!

Waltzingmouse Stamps September Release - Frosty In The Pines

Thanks for stopping by!  It's the second day of new release projects at Waltzingmouse Stamps and today we're showing you the new set called "Frosty in the Pines".  The stamps are officially available in the store on Sunday September 28 when we'll be celebrating with a blog hop with some prizes.   Frosty is super cute with his little bird friend.  T
The set also comes with everything you need to stamp a snowy little scene.... pine trees and even log cabins.   Digital cut files made this really easy to cut, color, and create.

You'll have to help me settle this debate.  I wasn't sure which card to post here.  I like the one with the blue background because it clearly defines the sky and the ground.   My husband liked this one layer version better with the blue paint splatter background.

The little cabins are so cute I couldn't resist making a little tag too.

Fusion - Sunflowers

Happy Thursday!  Lots going on here today!  A new challenge at Fusion and CASE Study, and a new Waltzingmouse release!  I hope you'll take some time and look around!    This post is for the new Fusion Challenge called "Sunflowers".  Seriously... isn't this the perfect time of year for this?  Sunflowers just seem perfect for fall.  I even have a few sunflowers in my yard!   I usually cut the heads off when they start drooping and hand them in the garage to dry.  Some of the seeds will get planted next year, and the rest will keep the birds happy and fed over the winter.

Remember that when you play at Fusion you can use the photo inspiration or the sketch.  If you are feeling clever you can put them together like I did here.

I love this sunflower die from Poppystamps - it's so detailed.  I cut it out in three different colors of card stock.  The October Afternoon paper adds a country feel to the image and the blue and yellow go together so well!  Want to see what the rest of the ladies made for today?  Just click on their names here to jump to their blogs.  I know you'll be glad you did.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Waltzingmouse Stamps - September Release - Little Deer

What a great day for a visit- I've got lots of posts today - a new challenge at CASE Study and Fusion, and SWOON.. .a new Waltzingmouse release preview! For the next three days we'll be showing you three new stamp sets, and some beautiful intricate snowflake dies. The stamps are officially available in the store on September 28 when we will be celbrating with a blgo hop and some prizes. Claire is planning on smaller more frequent releases so we can keep products fresh and give them the full attention they deserve! Today we're showing the new set called Little Deer.
Little Deer features everything you need to make a beautiful snowy scene.  There are three different tree trunks, little deer, a cardinal, a bundle of presents and some snowflakes.   Oh Yes!!!  There are lots of great sentiments too!!
I stamped the tree trunks with pigment ink on aqua card stock.  Next I added some stamped snowflakes, and some watercolor paint splatter.  Silhouette files made the deer and bird easy to stamp, color, and attach with adhesive foam tape.
The stamp set also features this sentiment "A Winter Birthday".  Check out these gorgeous intricate cut snowflakes.  They are the latest die addition to the Waltzingmouse collection.

I bet you want to see more don't you?  Here's a list of the design team with projects for you today!

CASE Study #210 - Flower Bouquet

Thanks for stopping by!  I think I have more posts on Thursday than any other day of the week LOL!!  Today I have three - new challenges from CASE Study and Fusion.. and ooooh.. pretty... a new release from Waltzingmouse!! SO I hope you take your time and look around today!!    Our muse this month at CASE Study is the amazing Debbie Hughes!  I love her cards and she always inspires me to create!!  Look at this beauty she has for us today.  I see a pretty embossed background, lots of pretty die cuts bundled together with a bit of twine and topped with a scrolled sentiment.  Debbie's color scheme got me thinking Christmas, but I'm just not ready to give in to it!  I thought I'd make a pretty little thank you card that I could use any time of year.  I flipped Debbie's card up side down and made a flower bouquet tied with a twine bow.

Paper Smooches Sparks - Anything Goes! Acorn Love!

Another busy day for me today - did some running around - buying cleaning supplies, and then groceries... made it home in time to make some tuna salad for a quick dinner.  I know DH won't complain!  Sometimes it's nice to have a quick easy dinner.  No hurry cooking, just make a sandwich, sit down, and enjoy!

I've been cleaning up my crafty area for a post I need to write for Card Maker Magazine's blog.  They want me to show you my crafty space.  I seriously have stuff from floor to ceiling - I wonder if they'll cut the post after they see the photos.  I know most of you will either admire or despise me when I let you in for your own personal look.    The big day for that is Oct. 15.

I found a little time to get a card made for the Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge.  I thought it was time to pull out some fall themed stamps and this one always makes me happy.
Are you playing along?  There is still time to play - a new challenge begins every Monday!  I hope you have a great day!

The Challenge #15 - Black Rose

Hi friends!  I hope you had a great weekend!  The weather was nice here and I enjoyed my family time.  DH makes sure weekends are for family and isn't shy about giving anybody the stink eye who's not with the program.  SO I'm usually not blogging on the weekends - time to step away and get recharged!

A new challenge starts today at The Challenge.  The Challenge is another wonderful creation by Lesley Croghan and is hosted on her blog Always Playing with Paper.  Lesley is the creator of Fusion, Dynamic Duos, Seize the Birthday, Seize the Sketch, Card Concept, and Merry Monday.  This time is double the fun because there is a color challenge, and a sketch challenge.  You can use either one that inspires you, or you can incorporate them both together like I did.

This is my last time playing The Challenge as a DT member.    The past four months have just flown by. I really enjoyed the opportunity of getting to know these ladies better.  They're all so talented and always inspire me.   I know I'll be visiting whenever I can and just wanted to thank them for  making me feel so welcome

Thanks for stopping by - have a beautiful day!!
