Tupelo Designs LLC - Blessed Home

I'm just loving yellow lately. Maybe I'm missing the sunshine - it's been cloudy and rainy here so as usual my crafting is diverting my attention to brighter things!

I'm posting today for Tupelo Designs LLC! They're my favorite store because they carry lots of the brands I love - all in one place!

Today I'm playing with a new die I found there. This is the Gina Marie Home Sweet Home Die.  I can imagine it dressed up for every season - perfect for Thanksgiving, or a new home congratulations.   It's 4 x 4" square. I thought I'd do something a little different by making it into a 4.25 x 5.5" card.
I did some color blocking on this one - which might look tricky but it's really not. I cut three strips of card stock in shades of yellow and taped them together on the reverse. I cut them to 1 3/8" to fit behind the 4" die cut. I adhered the die over the panel and trimmed off the tiny bit of extra card stock.
I stamped a simple sentiment from Neat & Tangled Gardenia Blooms on a piece of yellow gingham and adhered it to my card base. When I added the die cut house it looked a little "empty" so I added two die cut borders to the edge. The repeated colors pull it together and add a home spun feel to the card.

Yowzers! This is stunning with the different shades of yellow, layering and all the extra elemental components to give it depth and so much interest. Nicely done!
