SSCB#51 Stripes

A new challenge begins today at Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog!   We're switching things up a bit for 2016.  Starting in February all the latest challenges will begin on the 1st of the month.  We'll still be showing another sample at the half way point, but we'll also be celebrating with a blog hop showing the latest products and giving you another chance to win some goodies from Serendipity Stamps.  The challenge this month is STRIPES!!  You can stamp, die cut, color block, or find them on your patterned paper - just make sure your design has some stripes and that you use at least one Serendipity Stamps image.  If you're the lucky winner you'll get a $20 gift certificate!

Did you know Serendipity has lots of pretty dies in stock?  For this card I used their Mini Scroll Heart, Heart Scroll Die, and Love word die.  Serendipity also stocks dies from some of your favorite companies like Pretty Pink Posh and Cheery Lynn.
I used the Pretty Pink Posh stitched border for the strip of solid card stock that separates my two pattern papers.  The doily is the Cheery Lynn French Pastry die.  I cut it in half to create my design.

I even decorated the inside of this card with stamps from the Victorian Heart Set, and Happy Valentine sentiment stamp.  I wanted a water mark effect so I stamped the hearts in a very light pink, and then over stamped the sentiment in rich black.

I wanted to scatter lots of metallics throughout this design. Can you see it all?  I know.. sometimes it's hard to photograph.  There is silver glitter behind the scroll heart, gold washi, and silver foil in the Platinum Shimmer Twinery Twine.

Ok now it's your turn!   But before you go let me show you the special this month...
Want to go shopping?  The 50% off Stamp of the Month for January is the Party Background.
