SSCB#17 - Butterflies

Are you having a good week?  My son started running early in the morning again for Cross Country Practice which is good and bad.  No more sleeping in, but the up side is that I am getting more done in a day.  Today we went to the mall!  I got to hit some of my favorite craft stores and then we went to Olive Garden for lunch.   That's starting to become a habit for us and I think I can tell you what everyone will order before they say it out loud!  I guess I can say I know my kids - and I bet they know me too!

Twice a month Serendipity Stamps hosts a blog challenge.  This time its to add a butterfly to your design. It doesn't have to be a stamp  -  a die cut,  pattern paper, or embellishment works just fine.  Link up your design at the Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog for a chance to win $20 off your next order!  The sale this week is buy 3, Get a 4th One Free, good through 8/14.  And there are still lots of wood-mounted stamps on sale!  You can go shopping here.

I love butterflies - they are always welcome visitors to my yard.  I have to make sure stinker binker (my furry friend) doesn't see them because she thinks they are fair game.  I can't tell you how often I see her going after a big bumble bee.  You would think that after getting stung once or twice she'd just leave them alone!  Silly Dog!!
I colored up this coneflower image in copic markers.   I double cut the butterfly attaching it with foam adhesive on one side, and sticking the other side down flush with the original so it looks more like a wing.   I fussy cut the image and layered it on top of some pattern paper die cuts.  A little velvet ribbon added some texture and richness to the card - and since I couldn't find a place to add a pretty bow or gems I added a little button for some eye candy!  (That's my story and I'm sticking to it!)

Check out what the rest of the design team made and give them a HEY!!

I hope you will join us and thanks for stopping by!!
