Simple Stories What's Cookin' Collection

Dinner time is sort of a big deal at my house. It's time for relaxing and discussing the days events, and it's always time for a good meal. I love to try new recipes and after every one tries what's served we all vote if it's a keeper or not.

The Simple Stories What's Cookin' collection release is perfectly timed to correspond with fall and the Thanksgiving holiday. The cooler weather means that we will be turning to oven cooked meals and baked deserts.

But if I'm completely honest I think this collection is suited to all year round. I love the images of cooking utensils - mixers, pots and pans, spatulas, whisks and bowls. And you'll find foods too.. pie, cookies, jam and yes there is even a turkey.

But this collection is a celebration of home too.. because home made is the best! You'll find images of little houses, and tables set for serving perfect for scene cards.

I love the color combo too - red and aqua is a long time favorite. The patterns have a retro feel that include florals, gingham, check and mosaic.

The collection is available with 12" papers or the 6x8" paper pad. I used the pad for my cards today because I wanted to use the smaller prints especially for my scene cards to coordinate the wallpaper and flooring in the perfect size proportion to the other images.

I love the little checked cook book that gets me thinking of my own Betty Crocker recipes, and the aqua / jade colored bowl like my own Pyrex that I've had forever.

For me this collection is like a warm hug. It brings to mind time spent with family in Grandma's kitchen as a child and carrying on the traditions that are important.
