Waffle Flower New Release and Giveaway!

The March Waffle Flower release is in the house! This collection features baking-themed stencils for both Postage Collage and Nesting Postage Collage, plus coordinating icon dies to help you create sweet little scenes. Round it out with playful sentiments and word dies!

My card features all new today! It starts with that light blue A7 Piercing Texture plate topped with a white Nesting Piercing Fancy Label.

Now for the fun part! making a scene. First I die cut and assembled the die cuts from Baking Fun die set and then arranged them on a piece of plastic that was the same size as my card base. This allowed me to arrange and rearrange items until I was happy with the placement.

I added some items flat to the card base while others are adhered with adhesive foam. This creates some dimension on the design. The sentiment is from Mixed Sentiments and looks like it was frosting piped on the card!

Waffle Flower March Release Sneak Peeks Day 3

It's Day 3 of sneak peeks of the latest Waffle Flower release. Everything is available in the shop TOMORROW!

Today's focus is the new Just Mitts! The Just Mitts Die-n-stencil Set features highly customizable mitten dies, perfect for adding warmth to your baking-themed cards. Pair with punny sentiments and layering dies for extra dimension and charm.

I added a polkadot stencil to one, and stripes to the other. The set also includes little icon dies like the butterfly and heart as well as the trim that I added to mine!

The background is called Gingham. I used up lots of scraps inlaying the little tiles in shades with coordinating colors. I wanted it to create the look of tiny tiles like you might have in your kitchen!

Simple Stories What's Cookin' Collection

Dinner time is sort of a big deal at my house. It's time for relaxing and discussing the days events, and it's always time for a good meal. I love to try new recipes and after every one tries what's served we all vote if it's a keeper or not.

The Simple Stories What's Cookin' collection release is perfectly timed to correspond with fall and the Thanksgiving holiday. The cooler weather means that we will be turning to oven cooked meals and baked deserts.

But if I'm completely honest I think this collection is suited to all year round. I love the images of cooking utensils - mixers, pots and pans, spatulas, whisks and bowls. And you'll find foods too.. pie, cookies, jam and yes there is even a turkey.

But this collection is a celebration of home too.. because home made is the best! You'll find images of little houses, and tables set for serving perfect for scene cards.

I love the color combo too - red and aqua is a long time favorite. The patterns have a retro feel that include florals, gingham, check and mosaic.

The collection is available with 12" papers or the 6x8" paper pad. I used the pad for my cards today because I wanted to use the smaller prints especially for my scene cards to coordinate the wallpaper and flooring in the perfect size proportion to the other images.

I love the little checked cook book that gets me thinking of my own Betty Crocker recipes, and the aqua / jade colored bowl like my own Pyrex that I've had forever.

For me this collection is like a warm hug. It brings to mind time spent with family in Grandma's kitchen as a child and carrying on the traditions that are important.

Spellbinders June 2020 Card Kit of the Month

Have you ever wished for a complete card kit that had EVERYTHING you needed to make lots of pretty cards? I mean everything including pattern paper, card stock, die cut images, stickers, card bases, adhesive, card stock and embellishments? Well look no further! Told you there is ALOT included in this kit! I made NINE cards with this beautiful kit, but today I'm sharing only four! There's too many photos for just one post! 

The theme of this kit is summer get togethers like BBQ's and parties. I think these would make great invitations or a note to a coworker to plan a night out! 

There are lots of Southwest and Mexican themed images like paper picados and cacti! I love the guitar that reminds me of mariachi's and a night out with the girls for margaritas!

I cut hilly landscape lines with scissors from the black and white prints in the pack. 

Just look at these Chillin' and Grillin' die cuts! A BBQ and brats.. a hamburger and a fat slice of watermelon! Looks good to me!! 

There's several invitation and celebration sentiments included and these cards come together easy. I really love the pretty prints and bright florals. 

I always think these kits would be great to take on a vacation - or for now a staycation - I can take the whole box outside with me. It was so convenient to have all the elements I needed for these cards delivered straight to my front door. The only things you'll need to make these cards are a paper trimmer, ink, stamp block, and die cut machine. Everything else you see is included in the kit. That includes double sided tape, card bases and WHITE envelopes (my photos are taken with colored envelopes NOT INCLUDED IN THE KIT to add contrast).

Tupelo Designs LLC - Good Things Come to Those Who Bake!!

I hope you're having a great day! I've been struggling with a cold but I'm feeling lots better today! I'm looking forward to a quiet weekend at home. I'm also hoping to have my parents over for dinner. I didn't feel well enough to cook on Easter and feel like I owe them a dinner! 

When I quit working several years ago I found myself a little lost. I'd been working in an office for years and years and domestic life was new to me. I couldn't invest in a hobby because I was short an income, but I was able to brush up on my cooking skills - it was less expensive and healthier to eat at home!  I'm happy to say that I am quite comfortable in the kitchen now.

Now I'm able to do some crafting too - something I've loved my whole life. It's fun when different interests overlap and I'm loving this Little Bakers set from Waffle Flower. It's got two ladies , some punny sentiments, and even a few kitchen accessories like this jar and chocolate chip cookie! I added some confetti heart "sprinkles" from Queen and Company Sequin Toppers. One little pack sure goes a long way!

The background papers are from American Crafts Shimelle "Little By Little" I used the paper to create a scene - the pink and purple lined paper make up the flooring the cook is standing on, and the blue and white background stripes remind me of recipe cards. I added a file tab (staples from my stash that include the My Favorite Things Fishtail Flags, and Divider Tab border. I think these are both retired but substitutes are easy to find in the store).
