November Countdown to Confetti Day One!

Hi friends! Are you getting ready for a little Confetti in your life? A new Reverse Confetti release is just around the corner.

Today through November 7 we'll be showing peeks of the new release as we count down to the products hitting the store on November 8. Today we're showing three new sets - Botanical, Home for the Holidays and Mixed Messages.

I made this sweet little scene using the new Home for the Holidays stamp set. I started with a distress ink background in Spun Sugar and Milled Lavender topped with a Swoosh Cover Panel. The twists and turns of the background panel got me thinking of snow drifts!
I stamped a sentiment from Mixed Messages into one of the openings. I arranged the houses and trees on the panel to create a scene.
I used adhesives from Thermoweb iCraft. Their Tape runner makes it easy to apply adhesives to images. I used their 3D Foam Squares to raise images for dimension and Zots adhesive dots to add sequins.
Want to see more designs made with these three new stamp sets? Here's a complete list of all the designers with projects to share today!

Please make sure you leave a comment - you have to comment to win!

Jeanne Jachna (That's me!)

I hope you'll stop by tomorrow when we'll be sharing more peeks at the new release!

Simple Stories Simple Vintage Ancestry Collection

Have you ever felt a need to investigate your past? I mean going beyond you, past your parents and grandparents. digging deep into your Ancestry. Perhaps where you come from is linked to where you are going! I’d love to find some skilled artisans or simple crafters like me in my background. It would explain a lot! LOL
This collection is a wonderful mix of heirlooms. You’ll find cameo silhouettes and antique silhouette portraits, pressed flowers, time pieces and vintage cameras. The prints are plaids and florals in shades of gold, poppy and aquamarine.
Simple Stories has pulled out all the stops for this collection. It’s available in 12” and 6x8” papers and the embellishments include matching solid “Basics”, decorative brads, washi, bits & pieces, chipboard, stickers and NEW layered stickers so you have lots to choose from for your designs.
I like to add a layer of solid color as a matt to my layouts. The Simple Vintage Ancestry Basics collection is perfect for this. Solids are also a great way to break up your patterns to keep them from looking busy too. I recently found a new way to use my extras – making my own envelopes!
Whenever I receive a new collection, I love to look through all the pieces and sort them out. I’ll put all the butterflies, hearts, flowers, portraits, sentiments, etc on little piles so I know exactly what I have. I cut apart the layered stickers and punch out the chipboard pieces too and add them to the others. It’s candy for the eyes sorting through all the different embellishments.
For a base I like to start with a 3x4” journaling card or larger piece of ephemera – in this case perhaps a post card or larger image from the bits and pieces. I arrange the images on a piece of clear plastic the same size as my card base and add more embellishments – perhaps a butterfly, sentiment or silhouette. I can rework the arrangement as many times as I like before I commit and adhere the bits in place.
The finishing touches are always the strips of washi, bitty sentiment strips, and decorative brads or enamel dots. These little details add more layers, interest and color to your designs.
I think these cards will make great invites to family gatherings, congratulations for new additions to the family (wedding or baby), and reminders for tough times – because this family is strong together.
Maybe you’re starting your own family tree and thinking of your own branch and where the stems will lead. The Simple Stories Simple Vintage Ancestry Collection is a wonderful way to document and build on the memories of today.

Spellbinders November 2020 Card Kit

Hi Friends! I hope you're having a good day! The November 2020 Spellbinders Card Kit of the Month was revealed yesterday - November 1 - and I'm sharing four cards made with the kit. Here's a peek...

The kit includes EVERYTHING from the die cut pieces, stickers, chipboard, pattern paper, card stock, to the card bases, envelopes, double sided adhesive and sequins. You'll also receive a stamp set AND a die set.
The theme this time is Christmas and Season's Greetings. Inside you'll find gorgeous florals, candy canes, pine tree and deer.
Lots of the images and papers have gold foil accents to add a little sparkle and shine! Even the sequins this time are GOLD.
I love the pattern papers - there's two of each sheet in the 6" square pad so there's lots to work with.
I had fun arranging the little images for each of my cards. I arrange the pieces on sheets of plastic the size of my card base so I can change my mind as many times as I like before I commit and adhere everything in place.
There's a little bit of something for everyone on your list in this wonderful kit. How about this cute mail box and letter headed to Santa himself?
This kit also includes a pack of 4x6" journaling card. I used some of them for my card backgrounds, but I plan to make a stack of little tags with the left overs.
I know you'll have lots of fun making cards with this kit, and the recipients who receive them will be excited to know you made them too!
My favorite part about the monthly card club kits is that they include a stamp and a die set, so long after the papers and die cuts are gone I'll still have something left to make with . The die in this kit is the Victorian street lamp and all the accessories to decorate it with.
If you haven't tried the Spellbinders monthly card kit you should treat yourself. You can subscribe for as many months as you like, or you can purchase the kit after it's revealed on the first of every month. You'll have lots of fun making with all the items that are included, and you never have to leave the house!
