Today we’re taking a trip to the farm for some fresh air and clean living! The Simple Stories Simple Vintage Farmhouse Garden is absolute homegrown goodness!

You’ll love the fresh picked produce, heirloom blooms and livestock images. The prints include beautiful soft calicos, dots, gingham and chicken wire in coral and turquoise.

The collection includes all the trimmings. bits and pieces and printed die cut chipboard, a coordinating sticker book, decorative brads, washi and so much more.

The florals remind me of walks through open fields picking wildflowers. The produce, barns, windmills and livestock make me think of county life at it’s best.. everything fresh from the source.

I live in the suburbs not far from a big bustling city, but I appreciate the value of a big garden and fresh produce. I do have a big vegetable garden and am always excited to see little seedlings turn into large plants that produce the best veggies you’ve ever eaten.

It makes me feel humble and small to experience nature in action. To watch a seed sprout, or a flower turn into a vegetable or fruit, and know that this is how it should be.. simple.

I can only imagine farm fresh eggs, or honey from my own hive… maybe someday! Until then I need to satisfy myself with the dreams that these images bring to mind.

These cards will be great notes for friends and family that share the same gardening habit as me, or for tucking a note into a box of veggies grown in my garden and left on a neighbors porch.

Pink Paislee 5th & Monaco SHINE

Do you love pattern paper? I just can't get enough of it. I can't resist the pretty colors, fancy patterns and swoon.. the die cut pieces.

Sometimes you get lucky and a collection has some gold foil accents like the paper and images I'm using today from Pink Paislee's 5th & Monaco collection.

This collection has die cut frames, and coordinating stickers too!

Courrier Postal Escargot or Snail Mail?

Hi friends! I'm sending you a special delivery the old school way with Snail Mail! I think these cute little snails are adorable!  Did you know that there is a National Escargot Day?   It was on May 24, but the Day of The Month Card Club is still celebrating these little critters so I'm playing along! 

One of my favorite card techniques is to use the images to create a scene. That wasn't always the easiest thing for me. All of the images on my card to day were colored with Copic Markers. I know they are expensive but these are the LAST markers you will ever buy. They are refillable, and the nubs are replaceable. If you color alot they are worth every penny. I added white accents with a gel pen coloring the sots on the mushrooms and adding some on the snail shells.
  

My background was created with Distress Oxide Ink using cosmetic brushes. I've had to learn to trust myself and to try colors that I wouldn't normally be attracted to. It's ok if you get some hard marks where there is more ink. The secret is in the splatter. I splattered this panel with water, then some watered down blue ink, and then some white ink. After all that splatter hard lines are hard to spot. Trust yourself and enjoy the process - splatter away!

To add some dimension adhere some of the items flat to the inky panel (like the mailbox, and mushrooms) and some with adhesive foam tape (snails, envelopes, flowers). I added silly eyes to make this even more fun!

A hand made card sent the old fashioned way - through the mail - with a personal handwritten note is a special delivery that is sure to bring smiles!
