Simple Stories Retro Summer

I hope your summer days are off to a good start! I love that the days are longer and that means more time to get things done. I'm feeling torn in different directions this time of year.. wanting to get outdoor work done.. the garden, deck staining etc. but missing my crafty time. It's hard to find a good balance and get the best of both worlds.

Today I'm sharing 8 cards made with the Simple Stories Retro Summer collection. The papers are available in a 12" collection kit, or in a 6x8" pad. I tend to alternate between the two for my cardmaking depending on the different bits and pieces that are available and the size of the prints on the 12" sheets.

This time I used the 6x8" pad because this collection has three different packs of bits and pieces and the 12" prints seemed a bit large for cardmaking. Remember the pads have the same prints but in a smaller print size.

I used Journal Bits and Pieces to create focal points for the yummy summer images. I love the popsicles, iced drinks, fresh fruits, and beach / poolside images perfect for this time of year!

Once you have your layouts designed you'll love the embellishments this collection offers. You'll find enamel dots, decorative sticker brads, and washi to lay on the extra goodness!

The color theme is summer fresh.. poolside aqua, Neapolitan strawberry, chocolate and vanilla and sherbet orange, raspberry and pineapple!

You won't want to miss a trip to the beach, but if you can't make it this collection is sure to satisfy the craving!

I think these will make great notes to friends and family and maybe a few invites too for some poolside fun!
