Simple Stories Simple Vintage Berry Fields

Wow have I got a treat for you! Today I’m sharing some farm fresh goodness – eight cards made with the Simple Stories Simple Vintage Berry Fields. This collection is as sweet as can be and will have your mouth watering for some fresh strawberries and cream!
This collection has a vintage look with realistic images of berries and florals, cardboard milk bottle lids, newsprint, and other ephemera. The colors are greens, reds and blues with a base of antique linen. There’s a beautiful shade of green that reminds me of antique collectable jade glassware.
I used pattered papers from the 6x8” pad for my cards. The pad has a smaller design print than the 12” sheets and if you cut the pad in half the 4x6” panels are perfect for A2 size (4.25 x 5.5”) card fronts.
The collection has lots of embellishments to work with including chipboard, printed and die cut bits and pieces, layered bits and pieces, ephemera, stickers and more. You’ll also find coordinating decorative brads, washi and new GLOSSY Enamel Dots!
I used sentiments from the sticker book that look like they were created with a vinyl labelmaker. They’re perfect with the restaurant receipts, tickets and photo discs that bring back childhood memories for me. I remember clicking through the circular slides for hours and my Grandmother’s house.
The images in this collection remind me of visits to the country to visit relatives and experiencing a different way of life. They always had a big garden, canned fruit and veggies when they were in season and yes! There were chickens in the yard too!
Those days are gone but I still look forward to going to the local farmstand or spending a few hours picking my own strawberries or vegetables in the fields when they’re in season. I love looking through the jars of home made jams, canned veggies and honey with their gingham topped jars tied with twine for sale.
It's a sweet taste of sunshine and a great place to see where your food comes from. Who couldn't use some time to watch the bees buzzing and pollinating to watching a flower miraculously develop into a fresh berry!
Enjoy your own trip down memory lane or create and document fun times visiting a local farm. A trip to the country is only a short drive away!
