Dear Girl

Hi and thanks for stopping by! I hope you having a great day and enjoyed the long weekend. The Labor Day holiday is meant to recognize and honor the American labor movement and the ways in which American workers have contributed to the country's success throughout the years.
Labor Day reminds me always of my Mom because it's frequently falls on her birthday. This card made with the Pretty Little Studio Miss Sadie Rose is a tribute to her and the women of her generation.
My Mom was a "stay at home" Mom - but that didn't mean life was easy. She sewed all of our clothing, cooked, cleaned and always made sure our house was a home. Somehow by the time Dad got home and we all sat down at the table together for dinner she had herself put back together like her day was a breeze.
The pretty dresses and florals in this collection remind me of my Mom and her Simplicity sewing patterns with elegant ladies on the covers. I'd daydream about someday being one of these fabulous ladies with the pillbox hats and clutch purses.
Things were different back then, but some of how Mom raised us stuck. We still have dinner together and make the most with what we have. And after a long day of work we all clean up pretty well, and it's worth the effort.
