Splitcoaststampers Twine Inlay Tutorial

I'm excited to share today that I've got a Twine Inlay tutorial posted at Splitcoaststampers!  All the step by step instructions to make this card (and a tutorial from my sweet friend Dina Kowal) can be found here!!  I hope you'll give this technique a try and maybe make one of your own - it's super easy!  There's a gallery you can link up your own designs to also! 

Splitcoaststampers - Colored Dry Embossing Tutorial

Hi friends!  I hope you are having a great day!  Splitcoaststampers loved a card I made about a year ago and put me in the que for a tutorial.  Maybe you remember it?    I'll give you a little back ground for what happened.  I saw this pretty embossing folder from Cuttlebug and just fell in love with it.  The thing was that I just couldn't bring myself to cover up that gorgeous bird in the middle of all those pretty blooms.  So how to make the embossing the focal point of my card?   I played around with lots of different ideas  - and finally settled on using distress ink with some paper stumps.  My friends as Splitcoast thought it was interesting and unique and asked me to do a tutorial there. 

This was the original card I made a year ago.   But whenever Splitcoaststampers adds a tutorial to their library they ask members to join in and try the technique.   I thought I'd play along because it was lots of fun and well yes... I am very excited to be included with some of my crafty heros that have tutorials there. 

I thought this bamboo embossing folder would look pretty using the "Colored Dry Embossing" technique.

Splitcoaststampers Gallery

Can you believe this is my last post as a DT member for Splitcoaststampers?  I have to say that it went by like a blink of an eye!  I think that's because they kept us so busy thinking of new themes and projects every month. The theme this month is "You Raise Me Up".  You'll see lots of images that are uplifting - in lots of different ways - I included a friendship card (because nothing raises me up more than my friends), an airplane, butterflies and a unicorn.  We even had a challenge to use supplies that begin with the letters L - I -F - T.  The new gallery posts today - and the only place you can see them is here - at Splitcoaststampers!

Splitcoaststampers January Gallery is OPEN!

The January Gallery is officially open at Splitcoaststampers.  The holidays are over and now it's time to start paying off the bills for all those wonderful presents we purchased.  What better time to save a little $$$$ ?  This month's challenges all included the theme of "reuse, repurpose, and recycle".  I've used cereal boxes for card stock, cupcake liner doilies, hand made flowers and even pages from an old dictionary..    I can't share my projects I've made for Splitcoaststampers on my blog.  The only place you can see them is at Splitcoast.    I can give you a few sneak peeks and I hope you hop over there to see what's new.  Challenges the DT had this month include a CAS as well as Fussy version of the same card, a project featuring ingredients that start with the letters S - A - V - E photo inspiration, sketch inspiration, and general theme - everything to save you some cash!  You can see my gallery here. 

Awesome News! Splitcoast Stampers!

I just wanted to share with you my new Design Team Assignment that was all hush hush last month.  I am so excited to tell you that I've joined Splitcoaststampers as a member of their Dirty Dozen!  Yes, there are 12 of us, and our term is 6 months - so there are two new DT members every single month!  You wont be able to see any of my projects that I make for Splitcoaststampers on my blog.  The only place you can see them is at Splitcoaststampers of course!  If it's been a while since you've been there or updated your gallery it's time to give it another look.  The web site has new features, and lots of interesting new challenges.  They are a wonderful "go to" for techniques and you'll find galleries for all your favorite products, themes and designers.   The theme this month is "branching out" so you will see all sorts of beautiful fall creations.  Here are links to a few of my projects for this month including a sketch challenge, a photo inspiration challenge, CAS and Fussy versions of the same card, and a spelling fun (the word is L I M B - we had to use ingredients that started with each of these letters).  I hope you will stop by and say hi!
