Butterfly Swell

Hi friends! I hope you're having a great day! A new challenge begins today at Fusion Card Challenge! It's a great place to play and you'll love this challenge because there are three ways to play.. you can play along with the sketch, be inspired by the photo, or FUSE them together and play with BOTH!
This time the photo inspiration is a blue color palette. I was drawn to the ombre shades and beautiful butterflies! Not feeling inspired by the photo or the colors? That's ok.. you can still play along with the sketch. And if you're feeling clever you can fuse the sketch and the photo together!
I pulled card stock in all the shades of blue in the inspiration photo and topped them with a panel that I die cut with pretty butterflies. This is the Butterfly Swell die from Memory Box.

I trimmed the edges of the die cut panel so that the striped blue panel would show on the ends as well as the swell in the center of the die. The sentiment is new from Poppystamps - its silver foil on black cardstock from a sentiment set called Modest Greetings 1.
I scattered gems in two different shades of blue along the outer edges of the design. They add more color, some shine and perhaps some motion for the butterflies.
Now it's your turn! I can't wait to see how you interpret the inspiration photo OR the sketch. Maybe you need a little more inspiration? Check out designs from the rest of the team. Just click on their names below to jump to their blogs.

I hope I see you at Fusion Card Challenge! It's a great place to play and make new friends! I'm always inspired by the team as well as the linked up designs!

Memory Box STAMPtember Exclusive

Are you ready to party? Simon Says Stamp is celebrating STAMPtember! What? You've never heard of STAMPtember??!!

Most people call it SEPtember, but as crafters we know better it's STAMPtember! It's a celebration of everything crafty. In addition to great new products and give aways we love that Simon Says Stamp collaborates with your favorite designers to create exclusive sets you can only find at Simon Says Stamp and only while supplies last.
Our parent company Memory Box has created an exclusive set called True Friend. It's a beautiful floral set with coordinating sentiments of friendship.
I colored the floral with Copic Markers. To make it the focal point of my design I created two borders to frame the floral. First I cut the Tall Curve Side Border twice from white cardstock. I inked both panels with Distress Oxide in Seedless Preserves, Carved Pumpkin and Worn Lipstick. I splatted the panels with water and then topped them with white die cut Reeded Deco Curve Borders.
A simple sentiment from the stamp set and a sprinkle of woodgrain sequins (Brutus Monroe) are the finishing touches.
I hope you'll check
out STAMPtember - it s a great way to find a new favorite.  They've got lots of awesome designers with projects and designing tips to share.  Their blog posts have secret codes for deals on purchases, and you'll also find a gallery to upload your own designs made with these Simon Says Stamp exclusives.   You can get all the details on STAMPtember here.

Fusion Challenge - Seaside Treasures

Hi friends! I hope you're having a great day! If you're looking for a new challenge you'll find another winner at Fusion Card Challenge . You'll love this challenge because there are three ways to play.. you can play along with the sketch, be inspired by the photo, or FUSE them together and play with BOTH!

So I spy a vintage ball jar filled with seashells. The colors are mostly neutral with a pop of aqua blue from the glass and perhaps a bit of coral in the sea shells. You can spin the photo into a color theme of neutrals and blues, or perhaps you see another element that jumps out at you.... seashells??? If you're not inspired by what you see in the photo.. then you're welcome to play along with the sketch. If you're feeling really clever you can FUSE them together.
.I focused on that fabulous jar full of sea shells. It just reminds me of trips to the beach.. of picking up little treasures.. discarded shells and smooth sea glass, and bringing them home and foolishly thinking I could capture a day in jar.
I used several die cuts starting with the Knotted Diamond Background that reminds me of fish net. I adhered it to a rustic cardstock with lots of fiber imperfections. I topped the background with a die cut jar and embellished it with kelp and coral die cuts from Memory Box.
Of course I had to add some sparkle and shine - some gold sequins and aqua and white gems.
This card is so pretty in pink! What a great way to let someone special know that they're on my mind! Now it's your turn! Maybe you need a little more inspiration? Check out designs from the rest of the team. Just click on their names below to jump to their blogs.

I hope I see you at Fusion Card Challenge! I cant wait to see what you make!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope you're having a great Valentine's Day whether it's time with friends or date night with your sweetie everybody needs a little love.
I love the layered dies offered by Birch Press Design. The designs are elegant and the option of making the designs in different color schemes is endless.
I admit sometimes it's hard to find ombre shades of cardstock in the same color family. That's why I'm happy to share that our parent company Memory Box just released ombre paper pads perfect for layering.
I cut the Kinsley top layer from white cardstock and the remaining layers from the Berry Red 6x6" pad. The pads are white core so you can tear them, and it really streamlines the process of finding the perfect papers.
I hope you'll check out the new paper pads! I know you'll find one in your favorite color!

Fusion Card Challenge - Haunted Mansion

Hi friends! Are you looking for a card challenge to play? A new one starts today at Fusion Card Challenge! You'll love this challenge because there are three ways to play.. you can play along with the sketch, be inspired by the photo, or FUSE them together and play with BOTH!
This challenge is called Purple Night. I love the dark, mysterious inspiration photo with the twisted trees and spooky misty sky. Of course it got me thinking of Halloween since it's just around the corner. If you're not loving the photo, that's ok.. I hope you'll still join us and play along with the sketch.
I always start my cards by arranging different elements (in this case a scene) on a piece of plastic the same size as my card base. It helps me figure out what to put where before I commit and adhere it in place. It also makes it super easy to pick up the entire design and see what different papers will look like for the background.
I couldn't wait to play with the new dome set from Memory Box. This card contains three stacked dies - the Haunted Entrance Dome, Haunted House Dome, and Winter Wood Dome - all cut from different shades of purple card stock and adhered together.
The dies included lots of the elements like the pumpkins, ghosts and bats. I added a simple circle die cut for a moon and some bitty leaves for the pumpkins. The background is a block stripe of card stock in candy corn colors.
Now it's your turn! Now it's your turn! Are you ready to play? I wonder how you will interpret the photo! Maybe you need a little more inspiration? Check out designs from the rest of the team. Just click on their names below to jump to their blogs.

I hope I see you at Fusion Card Challenge! I cant wait to see what you make!
