12 Kits of Occasions is Out of This World!

Thanks for stopping by! There's so much going on today so I hope you take a look around. It's the last day of the month and you know what that means right? It's time for The 12 Kits of Occasions! The 12 Kits is a group of 12 friends who all love to paper craft. Every month we take turns providing a kit for the rest of the group. On the last day of the month we reveal what we made with the kit and share our designs. It's fun to see how our designs are the same or very different!

I am so excited to share that I am the host this month and I put together a kit that's just Out of this World! Everything in the kit has an "outer space" theme. There's Starshine papers from American Crafts and stamped images from Altenew, My Favorite Things, Reverse Confetti and Paper Smooches. I knew I wanted to try some different techniques for backgrounds so I included some watercolor, and bristol papers too.  Here's a little peek at the kit!

Whenever I receive a kit in the mail I place all the ingredients in a tray.  I mix and match elements - always trying to focus on what's in the kit.  When it's all over I look at what's left and call that my little "trixie".  I put this kit together so there shouldn't be anything I didn't work with.. but if I had to tell you to watch for one element this time it would be the Space Needle die cut.  Yes.. I know this is a Seattle landmark, but is sure looks like its from another world so I added it to the kit.  I think it would look right at home in any futuristic city!    Her'es a peek at the kit...

I invited a special friend - Richard Breaks - That's MISTER Cardmaker to you! to play along - he's been my guest since my very first kit and I am so happy he keeps coming back for more. Thanks for helping me choose a theme Richard!

We know the kit is more fun when YOU can play along too so we are gifting a kit every month. I couldn't resist having more than one prizes - so for this kit we have three lucky winners joining us!

This was the first card I made with the kit - I kept the card close to my work area to remind me to have fun with this - no stress LOL (I always panic a little when it's my turn to make the kit - worrying that it might not be everyone's cup of tea.

And all the rest came together easy peasy!  I hope the rest of the team agrees!

Want to see more cards made with this fun kit?  Head on over to The 12 Kits of Occasions Blog where you'll find a sample and link to each of the designers playing along today!   You might just win yourself a kit to join us too!

Oh Jeanne, there's so much to love about your cards and your kit! The background you created on the first card is really over the top, amazing!! I can see why you kept it in front of you for inspiration. Each card is perfectly layered and colored to perfection as always. I had so much fun creating with the contents of this kit. It was truly an "out of the box" experience for me creatively and I just loved it. Thanks so much Jeanne for all the work you put in to making this kit "Out Of This World"!

WOW! Jeanne, I can't thank you enough for the amazing, over-flowing 'Out of this World' kit, which was full of new to me stamps, dies and papers! Such a welcome change from my floral-centric/feminine style, which gave me an opportunity to think (and color!) outside of the box (and add to my 'boy' card stash!).
As always, you cards are chock full of color, layers and embellishments..... SO beautiful! AND, those inked backgrounds? AMAZING! I'll surely be playing with my inks asap in an attempt to duplicate some of that colorful loveliness! Many thanks!

Well, this kit was SO GOOD. I was able to do all kinds of fun things, and I have so much left to play with! And what you've done with the kit yourself-- the bold colors, the shapes...you just killed it.
Thanks again for including me. It means so much!

Wow, you really hit this one out of the park, or I should perhaps say "out of this world"!! Your kit was so amazing and I loved that everything was new to me. Your cards are so awesome--colorful and fun! The sponged backgrounds look fabulous! As always, the combining of patterns is perfection! After seeing everyone's samples, now I can't wait to play some more, as I have lots of supplies left. Thanks so much for a wonderful month!

Jeanne I can't even begin to describe to you just how much fun I had with this kit! Completely out of my wheelhouse but I just fell in love with the theme, the cut images, the bold paper designs and all the fun options! Your cards are all so vibrant and fun, I wish I could CASE them all but I may need to get a few stamp sets first--lol! The background on your first card is awesome, did you use Distress Oxide or regular DI--just wow!! Love your colouring and layers and your, yes, CAS structure to some of your designs! Love you to the moon is amazing and the last card is precious! Thank you so much for all the fun!

First I have to thank you for the absolutely fabulous kit you sent us! I had such a good time working with the images I don't have. Perfect for my guy card stash! Your line up of cards is loaded with oodles of creativity and FUN!! Your colorful background on the first one is amazing. I didn't even think to separate the trio of cloud dies to have some on the top and bottom the way you did on your "seriously amazing" rocket card. LOVE that idea!! Thanks again sweet friend ;)
