WMSC117 - Santa Claus Is Coming To Town

Happy Saturday!  I hope everyone had a good week and has some fun planned.  Today is the big sweet 16 party my son is going to.  I'm tempted to sneak in so I can watch!!  I know, I know... I will be good and keep at a distance so I don't embarrass him!!  My daughter is going to the "Moon Fesitval" at school.  It is a cultural event featuring Chinese  food like "moon cakes" and entertainment.  I'm tempted to sneak in there too!!  I need to get out more don't I?  Maybe I can talk DH into going out for dinner!  I can get my own "cultural" food at my favorite Thai restaurant!!

Enough day dreaming... time to give you a peek of the new sketch for this weeks Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge!  The design this week is by WM DT member and original Gingham Girl...Kelly Schirmer!!   Not only is Kelly a creative force to be reckoned with but she is also notorious for leaving enthusiastic comments wherever she goes!  She never fails to make me smile and I can't see gingham without thinking of her!

Well, nothing new here, I think I'm behind again with the Waltzingmouse Christmas Card Challenge.  Good thing it's never too late to enter for previous months challenges.  I am entering this one in the August challenge (see I'm not too far behind!!).  The challenge is to make a card that incorporates a phrase from a Christmas  song.  When I saw the "good" "bad"  list on my pattern paper I started thinking.. "he's making a list, he's checking it twice"

This was a really fun card to make.  I was really drawn to the red and blue.  The biggest challenge was lining up the snowflakes and hearts on the border, but honest, that stamp a ma jig has done wonders for me!  One of those "what took me so long" moments!  I got mine at Joann and used a 40% off coupon!
I hope you like it and hope you find some time to play!  Who knows... you might just win a free set of stamps - and who wouldn't like that?

Have a great weekend!
Jeanne

I swear Jeanne, what your cards do to my senses! It's like going to watch the Nutcracker ballet and seeing the most amazingly choreographed performances. My eyes just dance from one gorgeously placed element to the next. Awesome job!!! You're like the Mikhail Baryshnikov of paper. :D

That is a beautiful ornament with the bow on top and that cute little bell hanging from it. LOL, stampamajigs are great, arent they? Your snowflakes with the hearts in the middle are lined up perfectly. You chose really pretty colors for this card and the red doily makes it all pop! It is tough to not want to peek into our kids lives when they don't see us, isn't it?

What a great card. I love your interpretation of the sketch. Such a fun Christmas card. And, you should totally spy on your kids! Either that, or go out and have some fun of your own.

Geeze your kids have some cool things going on! I can't wait to hear how the formal dance at the 16th b-day went! I just love this reindeer pattern on the ornament, and that you tied a bell in the ribbon! The blue really pops, too!

Wow...what an amazing card! So much festive detail and that lower portion of your card is just so fun, with the good and bad columns...you are just so stinking creative and that sweet little gold bell at the top of your ornament, just the perfect touch to a beautiful card.

Ack...it's fabulous!!! I admire your restraint with the kiddos....I'd be wanting a sneak peak myself!!! Love those snowflakes and hearts! Okay...I have a stamp a ma jig...guess I need to get it out and figure out how to use it!!!

Oh Jeanne, I blush at your kind words! Now if only I could be some kind of "force" in the kitchen, heee!

I always love aqua blue and red on a Christmas card and yours is so elegant! Methinks I see a Cheery lynn doily in the background, and I have been pondering getting one myself. Yours is so gorgeous with the ornament over the top. LOVE that Crate paper with the Nordic stamping over it...(must get that pad out from last year).

Awesome, Jeanne! The aqua and red are wonderful colors for Christmas and I love your layout. Love the ornament on the that gorgeous die and the fun patterned paper at the bottom with your perfectly stamped snowflakes and hearts! I'm sure your kids will have wonderful times tonight. Hope you had a chance to do a little partying yourself!
