Serendipity Stamps Blog Challenge - That 70's Card

Ok, without getting to personal..... are you old enough to remember the 70's?  Well.. I will own up to it .. I am.  I will tell you true.. I was young ... but I do remember a few things.....   I remember the bicentennial, super big bell bottoms on my jump suit, my favorite denim jacket, and Hootie the Owl telling us kids to "Give a Hoot on Don't Pollute" on commercials between episodes of Speed Racer or Fat Albert.

The Blog Challenge this time for Serendipity Stamps was to create a retro 70's themed card.  I focused on my own memories and started with the denim background.  I wanted my card to resemble a jacket with some fancy colorful patches like the jackets, album covers and graphic T shirts I remember.
I also remember the Jackson 5, the Osmond Brothers, Elvis in Hawaii., glittery iron ons of mushrooms, unicorns...  keep on truckin.......  I will give them credit for the  sprinkle of gems.
Are you thinking about your own favorite 70's memories now?  If you're younger maybe you are a fan of That 70's Show - yes avocado was really a trendy kitchen appliance color.  I can't wait to see what the other design team members came up with for this challenge.  I hope you'll check them out - just click on the links below to jump to their blogs.

Brilliant card Jeanne! I love the fun rainbow, and the denim background with those sweet floral gems - I remember some of the seventies too - Donny & Marie, Bay City Rollers, Kojak!! Oh dear, they don't make them like that any more!

LOL, you know I remember every single one of those elements...first hand! I love that owl with the googly eye and your rainbow. I had some jeans, not quite as pretty as yours, but similar with sewn on patches. What was I thinking about? Your card really brings back the "good ole days"...not!

Yes, I remember and you must have been very little. I also remember the avocado kitchens. You sure did a great job capturing all those memories on your sweet card. I forgot about the owl. Love the studs on the denim too. Thanks for the smile.

What a super fun card. I remember everything you mentioned. What a great decade, no? Of course, I adore your owl, and those stitched jeans, rainbow, and focus on the earth. Just perfect for the challenge.

Oh wow!! This is so cute!! Love what you did with this challenge so much Jeanne. Those two sentiments you used are perfect (how I missed these I don't know,) and that gorgeous rainbow - absolutely brilliant!!
