Simple Stories Heart Collection

I confess that I’ve always had a hard time making Sympathy and Miss You cards. It’s never easy saying good bye or expressing myself when I just can’t seem to find the right words to say.

The Simple Stories new HEART Collection allows me to convey my feelings without having to search for the right words. The journaling cards in the collection are beautifully worded, and heartfelt.

The papers in the collection are contemporary - yellow, teal and navy, with plaids, stripes, florals, hearts and dots that are fresh and classic at the same time.

The Simple Basics Kit includes solid 12” card stock sheets perfectly coordinated with the pattern papers. They’re perfect for layering and mixing with the pattern papers.

I used die cut bits and pieces and chipboard stickers to embellish the journaling cards that take center stage on each of my cards. I added sentiments from the 4x6 sticker sheets to look like journaling.

I know these handmade cards will covey my heartfelt thoughts and let the recipient know how much I care.

SPD June Release Day 4 - Mermaid Kisses

The past two days were for the boys.. today it's all about the girls with the new Mermaid Kisses and Scale Cover Plate die. The set comes with three different cute mermaids. I am one of three sisters - we each have different hair color, and my mom used to dress us in different colors to keep our clothes straight.

I love the accents on each of the mermaids including earrings and hair combs. The set comes with accessories too like coral, seashells, seaweed and little fish.

The Scale Cover Plate makes the perfect background for the mermaids. I layered mine over a distress ink panel and added lots of jewels for some sparkle and shine. The sentiment is stamped on a Stitched Flags Sugar Cut.

SPD June Release Day 3 - Hey Summer!

Today we're sharing projects made with the new Hey Summer stamp set! This set is really versatile because you can add lots of different elements and accessories to personalize scenes.

I stamped the shorts on the big bear that looks great with or without them. I used the little flower stamp that would be great for a grassy park scene to embellish his boxing trunks. You could even use the flowers to embellish the surfboard.

I decided to make a beach scene. I used the new Waves Stencil to add drifts to the sand, and a sun from Whatever The Weather because it's a bright sunny day! It's so hot the big guy needs a frozen treat to keep cool! LOL!
