Simple Stories Bro & Co Collection

Hi friends! I hope you’re having a great day! I’m excited to share EIGHT cards made with the new Simple Stories Bro & Co Collection! It’s just the thing for the young men in your life!

The colors and prints are bold and masculine and the themes are perfect for different occasions you might be celebrating. How about a congrats on that new driver’s license?

I confess I’m not up to date on all the expressions the kids use today and was grateful for my son for interpreting the secret language you’ll find throughout the collection. GOAT? Ok.. Greatest of All Time. Want a laugh? Ask someone to tell you what YEET means! Not so easy to put some things in words.

Now Hangry? I totally get that one.. probably describes me pretty often.. getting a little crabby because I need something to eat.

I’ll be using these EPIC cards for birthdays, and other major achievements to celebrate! Or maybe just a way to get my kid to smile when he’s away from home this summer.

This collection celebrates the youth of today..skateboards, guitars, pizza, tacos, video games – It’s all good!

What you’ll love is all the accessories available in this collection – decorative brads, chipboard, two types of bits and pieces die cuts, and so much more, all perfectly coordinated to work together. Trust me, you’ll be killin’ it!

The papers in this collection are only available in 12” sheets. When I start working I always cut out the journaling cards and then cut the remaining papers into 6” squares. This makes them easy to manage and see all the prints at one time.

Celebrate the young men in your life and reconnect with this fun collection. It just might surprise you just how much you really have in common!

Monkey Friends - Hang In There!

Hi friends! I hope you're having a great day! I love to make cards and am always looking for a new challenge to play. I like to see all the latest challenges listed at Paper Playful! I found a new one called "As You Like It Challenge" and this time they are asking "Do you prefer Jungle or Farm themes? and why?"

Well as you can see, I'm going for JUNGLE most definitely! Why? Because I love being silly and while farm animals can be silly too, monkey see, monkey do is a whole different level of silliness!

This card starts with a distress ink background topped with a frame from the Nature Essentials die set. This die is unique because it includes a frame and some borders for creating easy scenes. I stamped a sentiment from the set inside the frame and then inked some Stitched Leafy Borders with distress ink and snipped them to fit inside the die cut frame.

Copic colored monkeys with bananas are hanging from the branches. I adhered them with adhesive foam tape to add some dimension to the scene.

I hope you've got some great plans for the holiday weekend! Maybe a little crafty time? Whatever you do I'm wishing you lots of fun!

The 12 Kits of Occasions - Love Is In The Air

Oh Happy Day! t's the last day of the month and you know what that means right? It's time for The 12 Kits of Occasions! The 12 Kits of Occasions is a group of 12 friends who all love to paper craft. Every month we take turns making a kit for the rest of the group. We all receive the same kit with the same items. On the last day of the month we reveal what we each made with the kit. It's fun to see how we used the product in different ways. Sometimes the projects are similar and sometimes they are very different.

Our hostess this month is Michelle Leone from Pretty Periwinkle blog! Michelle put so much time and effort into this kit - there double (and triple) stamped die cut flowers, GOLD EMBOSSED images and sentiments, and intricate die cut images and words. Michelle even hand stamped some of the background paper you see! The theme is filled with messages of love and friendship! I made SEVEN cards! Everything was a pleasure to work with - ready to go.. no coloring required.

I love the pop of Periwinkle color you'll find through out..either in the ink or the papers - a wonderful homage to her blog name and I'm guessing.. her favorite color!

Ready to see more cards made with Michelle's wonderful kit? Check out The 12 Kits of Occasions Blog where you'll see a sample from each of the designers as well as a complete list of ingredients that were supplied.
