Hi and thanks for stopping by! Today I'm a lucky girl! I was asked by my sweet friend Michele K. Henderson from Crimson Owl Creations to be her guest at The Card Concept. Is there anything better than crafty friends? It was so sweet of her to think of me and I'm anxious to see our projects together on the Card Concept challenge blog.
I sure hope you will join us! Check out this pretty inspiration photo! I love the gold dipped pink pumpkins, swirls of gems and pretty florals! Isn't it so pretty!?
If you're not familiar with The Card Concept you'll love that they have design team members that represent several styles of card making from Clean and Simple to Shabby Chic and Mixed Media so you're sure to see a style that speaks to you. I love seeing how each of the designers interpret the photo with their own particular style!
Here's what I made...
I'm going to classify this as Classy and Elegant because it has a monochromatic color scheme, sparkling embellishments, and is dramatic with a shiny finish!
I started with the the Reverse Confetti Pumpkin Patch pumpkins and Garden Bunch florals. I arranged them on a piece of clear plastic the size of my card base until I was happy with the arrangement. Then I thought about ways to make the background sparkly and dramatic.
Little bits of foliage from Love Blooms and Pumpkin Patch are tucked around the pumpkins and the flowers.
I inked up a panel of white card stock with Spun Sugar distress ink and splattered it with Picked Raspberry ink. I adhered the edges of the Lattice Leaf stencil over the panel and spread Cosmic Shimmer glitter glue over the panel. The glue is thick so I used a pallatte knife - like you would for embossing paste. I removed the stencil and immediately washed it. When the glue was dry I applied Nuvo Gold Flake to the sticky surface. A sprinkle of jewels add even more sparkle and shine.
