Are you looking for a challenge to play? Poppystamps has a month long challenge and this month's theme is called "Over the Rainbow". They're looking for projects featuring rainbow colors, or you can just add a rainbow. . Linking your design to each month's challenge automatically enters you in their giveaway - a $20 gift card to www.poppystamps.com
I cut 1/2" strips of colorful cardstock and adhered them together with washi tape end to end to create a rainbow panel. Next I trimmed the panel to fit the front of my A2 card front and then cut the Stained Glass butterflies from the panel.
Next I adhered gold glitter paper to my card base and then adhered the rainbow die cut panel over it. I adhered the detailed die cut butterflies cut from white cardstock inside their openings. You have to be patient when using liquid adhesive to adhere cardstock to glitter paper. I weighted the die cuts with an acrylic block and put it aside to create the gold foil sentiment.
This color block technique is a great way to show off your die cuts and just imagine a shaker behind the die cuts instead of gold foil. Or how about a white cover and rainbow strips inside the die cut openings? There's lots of choices that would all be amazing! I sure hope you find some time to play!
