Lacy Cosmos

I hope you're enjoying your summer and that your surrounded by beautiful blooms. Maybe you're experiencing a little rain like we are here in the Midwest? That's ok.. that means it's time to turn to your crafting and make some pretty florals of your own!

I'm smitten with the new Birch Press Design Large Cosmos bloom! I think it looks amazing in just about every color I've seen it in. I cut mine from four shades of red cardstock to add some dimension.

I added a few Curved Leaf Branches for a bit of foliage. I cut the branch three times from three shades of green cardstock and then alternated them so I wound up with three completed branches.

Some Mixed Berries in turquoise add another layer of interest to the design, and a hot foil Thank You Noted Script Sentiment is the finishing touch!

I used the "C" layer of the Flora set for a lacy looking background that is subtle and detailed at the same time. I love that it doesn't distract from the beautiful floral! I hope you have a great day!

Layered Abstract Flowers

Sending you some sunshine today with this bright citrus colored card! I'm also linking up to Beautiful Blossoms Challenge where flowers are always in bloom!

My card stars with a hot foil Elongated Hex background. I used the coordinating two step stencil to add color with distress ink, and then some glitter paste in their centers to simulate some faux jewels.

The panel is topped with Waffle Flower Layered Abstract Flowers. I adhered the foliage flat to the card base and then added the layered florals with adhesive foam to add dimension.

If you're not sure how you want to lay out your design here's a tip.. use a piece of clear plastic the size of your card base. You can play with the design as long as you like before you commit and adhere everything in place.

I cut my florals from three shades of orange cardstock and then randomly layered the flowers (light to dark and dark to light) to get different looks for the same flower. It helps define the different flowers so that they don't all look the same.

Your a Sweetie!

Hi friends! Today I'm playing along with the Paper Minutes Challenge where they're looking for Fruits or Veggies this week!  I think this one certainly qualifies! 

I like to start by arranging images on a piece of clear plastic the size of my card base. This helps me decide what to put where before committing and adhering everything in place. When I'm happy it's easy to pick up the entire arrangement and layer it over different backgrounds and get a sneak peek of what my card will look like.

I decided on Distress Oxide blended panel in complimentary colors. The Distress Oxide is thick and creamy and makes blending so much easier than original Distress Ink. I spattered the finished panel with water and some white ink - my favorite is Ph. Martins Bleed Proof White Ink.

I love the new Shadow Friend die - its a two piece set that includes a background die as well as the thinner script sentiment. You can layer them or use the thin word die separately.

Glitter and Ice Christmas

Hi Friends! I was in the mood for something a little different today so I thought a Christmas card might be fun. This card was made with the Pretty Little Studio Glitter and Ice Collection.

I started with a background of coral colored stripes and plaids and topped it with a journaling card. The card has a dotted print on the bottom and a white solid top. The "label maker" sentiment is printed on the journaling card making this one even easier to assemble.

I embellished the journaling card with some pretty die cut florals. I love how some of the print looks glittery - hence the name of the collection.

I also love the colors in this collection. Yes you'll find the traditional reds and greens, but there's accents in aqua blue and purple that make this a little whimsical and might just make you look twice!

The finishing touch is always a sprinkle of bling. On this card is some iridescent pink sequins. I'm happy to add this one to my stash because it's never to soon to start making for the holidays !

Simple Stories Trail Mix Collection

I'll start off by saying my kids are grown and gone.. but I have lots of good memories of scouts and helping out with different events. A fun fact.. I was Treasurer for our troop and also a Merit Badge Councilor.

My son and husband would head out one week for summer camp every year. When my son got older it was Jamboree or High Adventure trips. I always slipped notes in their bags and packed treats for the whole group.

The Simple Stories Trail Mix Collection captures lots of special memories. I love that they added some pink for the girls, because my daughter was no stranger to camping either! My husband made sure she could be just as tough as the boys and she flourished!

This collection really celebrates the great outdoors with images of paddling, fishing, hiking, badge collecting, navigating and birdwatching too!

I love the colorful pints and images of nature. The mountains, insects, animals and trees are just perfect and many are coordinated to work together side by side.

Don't forget your camera for capturing memories, and your binoculars for spying on shy deer, moose and elk!

This collection has the cracker barrel covered too! I love the guitar for entertainment, the marshmallows for campfires, and tin cups for mess time.

I put a sampling of the paper prints in the background. You'll find plaids, woodgrain, maps, florals and lots more to play with!

I had lots of fun making with this special collection. I hope that you have brought to mind some special memories of your own.
