You're The Sweetest

Fall is in the air and that means a trip to the Apple Orchard! This card starts with the Pretty Pink Posh Layered Leaf Lattice stencil inked on a panel of pink cardstock.

This set is for those of you who might not like to color. You can definitely stamp the apple outlines and color them as you like, but it’s so convenient to color them with the stamps in the set.
The Patterned Apples stamp set includes three different size apples that you can stamp with solid, stripe, or dot patterns in the set. It also includes two different sized leaves as well as stems that you can also color with coordinating stamps.
I inked my apples in shades of red, green and yellow, die cut them, and then arranged them on the card randomly. Some of the apples are adhered flat to the card while others are raised with adhesive foam tape to add dimension.
I think these apples are fabulous and I know they’ll be great for fall as well as teacher appreciation makes.
I'm linking up to If You Give a Crafter A Cookie Challenge and Sparkles Monthly Challenge where they're looking for fall inspired designs.

Sugar & Spice Holidays

One of my favorite holiday treats is gingerbread. I'm lucky because I get to enjoy the treats without having to make them myself because my sister sends me some every year. The spicy sweet treat is always welcome and these sweet images from the new Sugar & Spice Holidays have brought about good memories for me.
This card starts with a plaid background panel cut from dark pink cardstock layered over a panel of lighter pink cardstock. I topped that with a large red Fancy Frame. The smaller Fancy Frame is inked with Distress Ink and splattered with water and white ink. This makes the perfect focal point for the little gingie with the ice cream cone. The background colors coordinate with the scarf and red frosting headband.
I tucked a few sprigs of Winter Fern between the two layered tags to add some color and interest to the design.
I decided to make a few tags with the other images from the stamp set that includes three gingerbread people and two sentiments.
I think these cuties would look great with any accent colors. I decided on green and purple for these. I cut the sentiments with 1/4" Sentiment Strips and sprinkled on Silver Sticky Gems for a bit of sparkle for the holidays!
I'm linking up at Girlz Creative Christmas Challenge where this time they're looking for Gingerbread!

I hope you're smiling! I plan to give these tags to my sister who always gifts cookies for Christmas. I know she will love them!

Merry Bookmas!

Hi Friends! I hope you're having a great day! It's rainy here, but that's ok because I make my own rainbows! Today I'm playing along at the Peace On Earth Challenge where this time's inspiration photo is below.
You know me! I'm all over those rainbow colors!
My card starts with a sweet plaid texture in lime green over a darker shade of green matt.
I added a white Pinking Circle Frame layered over a green Nesting Pinking Circle to create a "halo" focal point for the Merry Bookmas Tree.
I die cut the image from white cardstock and then added the rainbow inked colors using the coordinating stencil.
If you look close you'll see that the die cut has some cut out holes. I added gold glitter paper to the reverse of the finished design so the glittery metallic peeks through the holes.
I'm a big fan of books! I mostly read text on my Kindle but any art books - field guides, florals must be on paper! I can look at those for hours and think they make great gifts - not just for the coffee table! A gift card would be perfect tucked inside this one!

The Best Time of the Year

With fall in the air my thoughts are turning to holiday cards and trying to get more made! Today I'm sharing a card made with the Pretty Little Studio Comfort and Joy Collection.
I started by arranging several different present die cuts on a piece of clear plastic the size of my card base. This allows me to arrange things until I'm happy and also slip different papers underneath so I can get a sneak peek of the design before I commit and adhere everything in place.
I love going through all the different die cut packs and sorting them by category (flowers/foliage, animals, presents, food etc.). I think it's important to know what you have to work with before you get started.
Sticker elements like strip sentiments and faux stitching make great additions once you have your design completed.
The hardest part about making with Pretty Little Studio Christmas collections is deciding which one is your favorite!

Pink & Main September Release Instagram Hop and Giveaway!

It's a great day for a visit because the Pink and Main September release is officially available in the store. You'll find lots of holiday goodness including these cute new Chilly Treats.
This is a BIG set that includes not just cupcakes, but holiday ice cream cones too!
My card starts with a background of randomly cut strips of colorful cardstock that I topped with a window die from the Card Cut Essentials 1 dies set.
I inked the window inserts with distress ink to add more color to the design. The finishing touch was new Silver Sticky Gems because holidays deserve a little bling!
