Sweet Birthday Wishes

I love strawberries! I think they are my favorite fruit! The sweet juicy berries are hard to resist. If you love strawberries too you should check out the Waffle Flower latest release. It's absolutely mouth watering!

The new Sweet Strawberries are available as a stamp or hot foil plate. You can ink up both with the coordinating stencil, and of course there is a coordinating die too. The stencil makes it easy to color the entire image quickly. I used Distress Inks and Waffle Flower brushes and craft matt. The matt is a game changer for me and holds the stencil in place so I can ink "hands free".

I used a "Santa Tag" as a focal point for the berries. I stamped a sentiment on the new Sweet Plates die set. The plates are actually for posing your berries, but I like the pierced detail that makes a nice frame for Sweet Sentiments.

The papers are new too! This gingham is from a 4.25 x 5.5" pad called Berry Sweet. It's perfect for A2 cards.

I added a border that I created from a scallop rectangle die cut between the pattern paper and the solid red paper that I die cut with the Sweet Plaid Texture plate.

You're Egg-Stra Special

Hippity Hoppity Easter's on it's way! I sure hope the Easter Bunny stops at my house! I was beginning to think those days are over but now that I'm a grandma I am sure that I'm on his list!

Today I'm playing along at Tuesday Morning Sketches where this is the sketch this week.

This sketch is perfect for ANY image in your stash. The oval frame makes the perfect focal point for your design.

I used a Scallop Oval for my focus. I cut the inside negative piece from yellow cardstock and then added a design to it with the Pierced Leafy Vine die from Pretty Pink Posh.

My focal point is the yummy Big Easter Cupcake that comes with LOTS of accessories like these eggs grass and florals. I love the little garden stake that you can add a sentiment to. The "hi" sentiment is also included in the set. The striped background is a stack of blue border dies stacked together.

Intertwined Bears Gatefold Card

This week just flew by! I've been doing all my annual check ups so lots of running around for me.. and yes a few more visits ahead so I appreciate "my time".. the quiet moments in the day when I get a chance to make!

Today I'm sharing an interactive gatefold card made with Waffle Flower Intertwined Bear Hugs. I added a birthday sentiment to my card but I think it's perfect for Mother's Day.

The die set includes the two bears that attach to a flat card base. The set includes lots of smaller die "accessories" including the flowers, hearts, butterflies and bows.

To add a little dimension to the design I added some Distress Ink shading to the die cut pieces.

Here's a peek at the inside that is very simple. I wanted a small sentiment to "hide" behind the die cut bears on the cover.

Today I'm playing along at As you Like It Challenge where this time they want you to add a special fold to your design and explain why it's your favorite fold. My choice is always Gatefold. I really like that it looks fussy but is very simple. I also appreciate that this style card can stand up easily on its own.

Happy Easter Shaker

Today I'm playing at the Cutie Pie Challenge where they're looking for Easter/Mother's Day designs. I'm excited to see colorful flowers in the yard again so I thought I'd share this Easter card featuring a beautiful Layered Crocus from Waffle Flower Crafts. 

Instead of patterned paper, I created my own with a four layer Daisy Pattern stencil. It was easy to ink in primary colors.

I used a nested egg to create a focal point for my crocus and Happy Easter Duo sentiment. By cutting two of the nested die eggs at the same time I created a frame in solid pink.

If you look close you'll see that the egg shaped frame actually is the foundation for a shaker filled with colorful and sparkly sequins!

Even though this is a shaker design, it's still relatively flat as you can see from this angled photograph.
