The 12 Kits of Occasions - Summer Fun!

It's the last day of the month and you know what that means right? It's time for The 12 Kits of Occasions! The 12 Kits of Occasions is a group of 12 friends who all love to paper craft. Every month we take turns making a kit for the rest of the group. We all receive the same kit with the same items. On the last day of the month we reveal what we each made with the kit. It's fun to see how we used the product in different ways. Sometimes the projects are similar and sometimes they are very different.

Our hostess this month is Marybeth from Marybeth's Time for Paper. If we were allowed to choose our family instead of being born into the ones we have I'd pick Marybeth as my sister. She's my voice of reason and a blessing in my life. She's also a California girl so this "summer fun" theme is close to home. I picture her poolside or walking the beach with a margarita in hand. Why do I think it's summer all year in California? Answer.. because I live in the Midwest.

Her kit was a fun mix of all things summer - no trixies. I tried to use as much as I could because I swear.. some of the pieces she cut by hand! How sweet is that? 

I had to do at least one shaker card because I can't see a sequin without thinking of Marybeth! 

This card is a tribute to ther lemon tree in her yard - someday I hope I can see it in person!

Celebrate - It's Your Big Day!

I've got a sunny treat for you today... if you love rainbows, bright colors, and lots of sparkle and shine you're going to love this project. 

I'm playing along with Freshly Made Sketches. I love a sketch challenge... I made a few changes... the square becomes a star, and the circle becomes a balloon. See what I mean?

I started by stamping the dot border from Pretty Pink Posh Sparkle Dot Patterns in a rainbow of colors on a panel of card stock. I used a stamping tool to keep things lined up perfectly. 

When the panel was finished it was rather narrow and wouldn't fill the card base. I decided to create a background mimicking the stamped colors with strips of colorful card stock. 

I stamped a sentiment from Everyday Greetings on the star. I stamped the balloon on pink card stock. The Sparkle Dot Patterns stamp set is a series of circles that are designed to help align gems and sequins to create patterns. I applied jewels with Ranger Multi Matt Medium adhesive for a strong hold. When it was dry the balloon was fussy cut by hand. 

A bit of twine for the balloon string and a sprinkle of more colorful gems finishes off this cheerful card.

Happy Friday! I hope you're having a great day! I'm always counting down to the weekend - time for family! I love when everyone is together in one place. Time just seems slower over the weekend.

This card was made with the Altenew Let The Wind Carry You stamp set with coordinating dies. To make this set even easier to use I inked up the girl die cut instead of stamping her and then die cutting her. . The stamped image fits so tightly inside the die that very little white is visible and it's hard to align. I die cut the image from white card stock and then blotted it with an ink pad to color the die cut. 

The background papers are from Simple Stories, and the fun sequins are from Queen & Company. You can find all these brands at TupeloDesignsLLC.

Pretty Little Studio - So Sweet

I hope you're having a great day! Today I'm posting a confection of a card made with the Pretty Little Studio Sweet Life Collection. It's got lots of yummy images that' you're going to love!

I started with a background of beautiful pink ombre polka dot paper called Adorable. I usually purchase the 8" sheets of paper from the shop because I can cut it into the 4" width I need for my A2 size cards. I like having the flexibility of having the paper pattern run vertical or horizontal by cutting it myself.

I love the beautiful florals in the Flower Garden die cut collection. The colors match the pattern papers perfectly and since they're die cut they're ready to play with! 

The Cupcake Party die cut is the sweet star of the card. I've got it sitting on a strip of ombre die cut hearts from So Sweet 2. Half a 4" Cambridge Doily peeks out behind the cupcake - just like you'd expect from your favorite bakery. 

The floral wreath from Oh Snap! forms a halo around the cupcake and is embellished with flowers and a simple sentiment. Some shiny Sweetheart Pink sequins are sweet toppings for this card.

What a sweet way to say thank you to someone who's been extra nice!
