Hi friends! Today I'm sharing a magical card made with the Poppystamps Whittle Rainbow Unicorn Kit. This Kit is amazing because it's got the all the dies you need to create this scene card and lots of others. I didn't even use all the dies that are included in the kit.... AND it also includes a stamp set with lots of cute sentiments!
I envisioned the cute flying unicorns perched on clouds and flying among the stars! How magical is that?
I started with a background of ombre Distress Oxide Ink, blending from the lightest to the darkest using three shades of ink.. Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and finally Blueprint Sketch. Next I splattered the inky panel with water, some watered down Chipped Sapphire (just touch your ink pad to your glass or silicone craft mat, dip your paint brush in water and mix with the ink and spatter!), and finally some white ink (I use Dr. Ph. Martins Bleed Proof White Ink).
I cut out my pieces and then lay them out on a piece of clear plastic the size of my card base. This helps me decide what image to put where before I commit and adhere it in place. I also like that I can slip the inky panel underneath the clear plastic.. maybe blue isn't the best color? where should I stamp my sentiment? etc.
The bottom of the design seemed like the perfect place for the sentiment. I like to use Versafine Onyx Black ink because its great for details, and it's not water based. That means the ink will sit on top of the inky background and not soak into the paper. This also means that it's going to stay wet longer, so make sure not to smear it!
I added lots of details to my unicorns including double cut manes (one from solid cardstock, one from glitter cardstock), colored cardstock muzzles and tails, and google eyes to help bring them to life.
I really love all the stitched details on the dies and I know this card is sure to make you smile!

Amazing Unicorn
Did you know that there is a monthly challenge at Poppystamps? This month our challenge is called Heart Felt. We're looking for projects that include a heart (maybe a Valentine for your sweetie?) or a bit of felt. If you're feeling really creative you can add BOTH!
If you link up your design your automatically entered to win a $20 gift card to the store. You don't have to have a blog to play along.. you can link up to your Instagram account or any on line gallery. I love seeing the different projects linked up. It's a great way to get ideas for different ways to use your Poppystamps products and to make some new friends!
I hope you find some time to play along with our challenge. There's not much time left! You have until Midnight USEST on Friday to link your design!

I'm playing along with a "scene" card where the new Whittle Happy Unicorn is to star of the show. I added lots of details like a double cut mane, a google eye, and a cheeky blush colored in with a marker. The wing is adhered with adhesive foam tape to add a little dimension to the design.
Sometimes designing your layout can be intimidating. I always use a piece of clear plastic the size of my card base to arrange different elements. The clear plastic sheet allows me to slip different colors and designs underneath to help me decide what colors and shapes to use before I commit and adhere everything in place.

Love Letter
Thanks for stopping by! Today I'm sending you a love letter with Pretty Little Studio's XOXO Collection.
I layered the typewriter on a Darling Journaling die cut circle. The elements in this pack are a little larger than those in the XOXO pack. I saw the type font ABC journaling card in the Love This journal card die pack and thought it was a perfect fit.

Spellbinders February 2022 Card Kit
Have you tried one of the Spellbinders club kits yet? I've been getting the small die of the month for a few years now and I love it.! Every month for $15 I receive a die - this month its a pretty floral frame (see photo at the bottom of the post). I never know what I'm going to get and am rarely disappointed. I've been playing with the Card Kit for a few years too. Here's a peek at the February 2022 Card Making Club Kit.
The kit is really a great assortment of products. Here's a peek at this month's kit. Card kit's have come a long way and they just keep getting better. It's awesome getting a package delivered straight to my front door every month with product chosen to coordinate.
The Spellbinders Card Kit includes EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING you need to make cards including a 6" pad of paper, card stock, folded card bases and envelopes, stickers, die cut images, a stamp set and even a die set that you'll have long after everything else is gong. This kit even includes a roll of double sided tape and a square of foam adhesive to "pop" your images.
I really like that once I'm done making with the kit I still have a die and stamp set that I can add to my collection and reach for any time I want. The die this time is a leaf vine half oval flourish with bitty flowers to embellish the vines, and several word dies.
This kit is really gorgeous.. soft pastel colors, beautiful watercolor flowers, and elegant foil accents on the papers, die cuts and chipboard.
You'll love the beautiful butterflies, and birds, but honestly the florals steal the show! Another standout in this kit are the chipboard frames with gold accents. Their perfect for making shakers or focal points on your cards.
There are lots of sentiments in the kit but I kept a few cards plain so I can add my own personal notes inside. I made EIGHT cards this month. Four were posted earlier in the month.
I didn't have to add ANYTHING to this kit - everything you see was included. The only thing I added are the colored envelopes to help define the edges for the photographs. White envelopes are included in the kit for mailing your cards.
The Spellbinders Card Making Kit is $38.50 a month and that includes shipping in the US. You can subscribe and receive a surprise in the mail every month, or you can wait until the first of the month when the kit is revealed. I haven't been disappointed yet.

Birthday Wishes
Hi Friends! I hope you're having a great day! Its been snowy here.. which is throwing a cramp in my style because I have to get out there and shovel.. which seems to get harder as I get older! LOL! But it feels good to be out in the crisp winter air and appreciate the warm cozy house when I get back inside.
Today I'm playing along at Seize The Birthday where this time they're looking for Birthday cards with an optional topping of "Dichromatic". I wasn't sure what "dichromatic" meant either.. it means Use just two colors, with the optional addition of any combination of black, white, and common neutral colors. No metallics allowed!
I'm using orange and yellow for my two colors - I hope the green leaves don't count.. I couldn't figure out a way around that! :P
The entire card is flat except the center circle with the sentiment and the florals. This adds dimension and makes this card so elegant.
I hope you like it and that you have a great day! Maybe you'll find some time to make too!

My card starts with the background - an Outlined Butterfly panel over yellow cardstock. Next I added a Mistletoe Wreath and a Slim Shaker Circle stamped with a Birthday sentiment from Essential Celebrations popped up with adhesive foam tape inside.
I hope you like it and that you have a great day! Maybe you'll find some time to make too!
