The 12 Kits of Occasions - Faith and Family

HI and thanks for stopping by! It's the last day of the month and you know what that means right? Well for me it's time for the reveal of The 12 Kits of Occasions kit. The 12 Kits of Occasions is a group of 12 friends who all love to paper craft. Every month we take turns making a kit for the rest of the group. We all receive the same kit with the same items. On the last day of the month we reveal what we each made with the kit. It's fun to see how we used the product in different ways. Sometimes the projects are similar and sometimes they are very different.

This month our hostess is Lindsey Larson from Occasional Crafting. Lindsey made a heart felt kit she's calling "Faith and Family". This kit is a beautiful representation of Lindsey.. feminine florals and sentiments of faith and love.

The kit included LOADS of florals and a mix of bold and pastel colors. Just to mention a few ingredients.. stamped images from Clearly Besotted, WPlus9, and The Ton; die cuts included florals and sentiments from Concord & 9th; And.. pretty papers from Pebbles, and Papertrey Ink.

I was left with LOTS of extra ingredients - none of them "trixies" that I couldn't figure out.. but one ingredient left over that surprised me.. twine. Lindsey sent three different ones - and somehow I didn't use ANY!? I know.. shocking.. but I did make 7 (yes SEVEN!!) cards - A new record for me (I think). 

My apologies for the photography... some of the colors in this kit are so soft that when I brighten them they look washed out.  I wish you could see them in person!

Happy Friday! I'm counting down the hours to the weekend! LOL! I'm happiest when DH is home and we're spending time together! I'm ready to be a couch potato! Honestly I can only handle TV in small doses - no movie marathons for me. Maybe if the weather is nice I can talk him into a long walk with Miss Moriko.

Today I'm playing with the Concord & 9th Beautiful Branches Stamp Set and coordinating
Beautiful Branches Die Set. 

For this card I stamped the sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black Ink in the center of a white card stock panel, and then added a branch and leaves along the top and bottom of the card.

I added additional die cut flowers and leaves and adhered them with adhesive foam tape. A few berries are stamped in the background.

My second card is made with the same stamp set - very clean and simple as a one layer card.

I stamped the flowers in three shades of pink from Altenew - Frosty Pink, Coral Berry and Cotton Candy.

The leaves and flowers are a double stamped images. I added the "veins" to the leaves, and flower centers to the cherry blossoms that I left off the original.

Hand Stamped Sentiments - Easter Buzzy!

So how have you been? I've been so busy this week.. I got my mammogram done, and then a dental visit for a cleaning. Turns out I needed a filling so back to the dentist the next day. My parents stopped by, and I'm going out for lunch tomorrow with my sister! After a busy day there's nothing better than a little crafting to help me unwind.

Today I'm playing along with this sketch from Hand Stamped Sentiments. A sketch challenge is always my favorite.. I just needed to decide on what stamp set to work with. Now that Valentine's Day is behind us my mind is on Easter! 

I love pastels for spring and Easter. I started with these papers from Birch Press Design. - gingham and distressed dots in pool. I followed the sketch for the paper layout. 

Next I added the Scallop Oval Frames in lieu of the box on the sketch. I like the pattern paper peeking through the open ovals. I added a sentiment and images from Pretty Pink Posh Easter Friends. The happy buzzy is from Bee Friends.

All of the images are stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copic Markers. The finishing touch is a sprinkle of sequins in Aquamarine and Sea Breeze.

CASology - Ewe Make Me Smile!

 

Feel like playing a challenge today? You should check out the cue card this week at CASology! It's PUN! I looked this one up just to make sure I understood the word correctly. Here's what it said...

PUN:  a joke exploiting the different possible meanings of a word or the fact that there are words that sound alike but have different meanings.

Sound like fun? Yep! I thought so too! Here's what I made!

Sheep / Lambs / Ewe remind me of my sister. When she got her first perm her hair got foofy and I started calling her lamb.

All About Ewe from Reverse Confetti is sure to make her smile! I added distress ink to a card panel and drew in some "grass" with a copic marker. A post it note kept the ink where I wanted it keeping the sentiment area clean. 

The lamb is adhered with adhesive tape to add a little dimension. And the best part of all? Super CAS because I didn't even color the sheep.. just a little blush for her rosy cheeks and some gel pen whiskers! 

I hope this little lamb makes ewe smile too! Have a great day!

Pretty Little Studio - Dare To Dream

Are you having one of those days? You know.... trying to get motivated? Sometimes you're just not feeling inspired and need to give your creativity a little kick start. No worries! Pretty Little Studio has you covered! Every Tuesday we share an inspiration photo and one of the design team members tells how the photo inspired their own creation! Here's this weeks photo inspiration! 

I was smitten with the bright bold colors - I see Pink, a hint of yellow and blue.. and MORE PINK! I love flowers too! Here's what I made with the Tales and Dreams Collection! 

I started with a background of Leave Your Mark fuchsia pattern paper! I topped that with a 4" Cambridge Doily and a rainbow striped journaling card from If You Can Dream It. 

The die cuts "Daily Dreams" make a nice sentiment! I love the script font! I embellished the sentiment with floral die cuts and foliage from the Floral Dreams, Magic Moments, and Blooming Stories packages.

The flowers and leafy fronds frame the sentiment. The edges of the doily peek out from the flowers for a feminine look. A few crystal sequins glimmer like gems!
