The 12 Kits of Occasions - Sum Sum Summertime!

It's the last day of the month and you know what that means right? It's time for The 12 Kits of Occasions! The 12 Kits of Occasions is a group of 12 friends who all love to paper craft. Every month we take turns making a kit for the rest of the group. We all receive the same kit with the same items. On the last day of the month we reveal what we each made with the kit. It's fun to see how we used the product in different ways. Sometimes the projects are similar and sometimes they are very different.

Our hostess this time is Michele Ferguson from I Card Everyone blog! This post is bittersweet because Michele has decided to leave the group at the end of the year. I've enjoyed getting to know Michele and her wicked sense of humor and will miss her being part of this group. The kit she put together for us reflects her love of laughter and clever intellect.

I'm always on the lookout for things in the kit that I didn't use so I can CASE and stretch my goodies even further. Waste not, want not! SO my trixies this time included the bit of baby blue seam binding, vellum die cut tag, and the printed "sun of the" you see in the bottom right corner of the photo.

Happy Friday! I hope your day is off to a good start and you're making plans for the weekend! I'm always hoping for some quality time with DH. This weekend he'll be working so I'll be keeping myself busy doing some crafting! 

It's Friday so I'm posting for my favorite store TupeloDesignsLLC! I always find something new to work with there and recently spotted the PinkFresh Studio window dies with matching stamps.  This set is called Say it With Florals. All you do is cut the die and then stamp the images. If you use a stamping tool it would be easy to create an entire set of cards in different colors since the images go in the same place every time. 

The window can be used as a shaker or a place to stamp your sentiment. You could even stamp more florals on the inside!

Simple Stories - Bloom Collection

Today I'm sharing four cards made with the new Simple Stories Bloom Collection! This collection is a mix of soft florals and bold black and white stripes and dots!   If you're a big fan of pattern paper like me you need to check this out! 

This is a complete collection with Bits and Pieces die cuts, 6x12" Chipboard Sticker Sheet, Journaling Elements and even decorative Washi Tape! You can see the entire collection here.

The chipboard elements make wonderful embellishments! The chipboard is thick and add lots of dimension to your projects. The typewriter and florals on this card are all chipboard.

A 3x4 journaling card (included in the collection kit) is perfect for making images the center of attention. The Combo sticker includes sentiment strips borders and tabs! 

This sentiment was created by layering a "bits and pieces" die cut sentiment over a 3x4" elements journaling card. There is adhesive foam tape between the layers to add dimension.

You're going to love how each and every piece in this collection is coordinated to work together and the beautiful projects you'll be able to make!

Make A Splash!

June seems to be winding down too fast for me! Where are the long days of Summer? It seems like it's been gloomy (cloudy and rainy) here for days! Its really humid too making it feel much warmer than it actually is. Miss Moriko keeps giving me the sad eyes saying< "Hey! Did you forget we didn't walk yet?"  She's going to have to wait until tonight when it cools off. 

Since I've been day dreaming of all things tropical lately it makes sense that I'd be so attracted to this challenge at Cupcake Inspirations! Isn't that mermaid fin diving into waves of cream with rainbow sprinkles divine? Birch Press Design is giving a prize there this week too - another good reason for you to play! 

I started my card with a panel of distress ink in Tumbled Glass, Mermaid Lagoon and Wilted Violet. Lots of splattering of water, watered down ink, and some white ink for some dimension. 

I arranged my scene with stamped and die cut images from Reverse Confetti called Mermaid Kisses - my favorite mermaid set ever!

To complete the scene I added a frame and a simple sentiment. Some yummy Jewels from Pretty Pink Posh add some sparkle and shine!
