Take Care Friend!

Today I'm playing along at A Cut Above where this time it's Anything Goes! Just be sure you add some die cuts! You know die cuts are my favorite so I'm totally at home here! My card is almost all die cuts!

I started with a Mod Blossom die cut background. This die is meant to be used with a coordinating stencil to color in the flower pattern etched into the die, but I left it plain and cut from green cardstock. I like the lacy look of greenery it provides for the die cut flowers.

Next I cut flowers and butterflies with the Butterfly Blossom die set. The flowers are easy to cut and assemble with a completely separate flower center. The butterflies are pretty and stackable, but there is no greenery in this die set.

I added a sweet sentiment from the Paper Hugs stamp set. The coordinating die cuts fussy cut the sentiment. I really like the mixed font - script and print together.

The finishing touch for me is always a little bling. This time I added some enamel candy dots. They have a bit of shimmer to them.

Time To Read

It's been cold and rainy here in the Midwest. That means its a good day to stay inside and get lost in a good book. What a sweet escape!

Remember time spent doing what you love is never a waste of time. Crafting and reading are my two favorite ways to escape the stress of everyday, and I love this collection because it brings them both together.

Just Us Girls Guest Designer!

I'm so excited to be the gust designer this week at Just Us Girls Challenge. I love playing challenges because they're a great source of inspiration. I love seeing the other entries too so I can see what's trending and what other people are up to!

The challenge this time is to make a Birthday Card and add dies! That's easy peasy right? I bet just about all of us have a birthday die set in our stash!

I'm smitten with the new Pretty Pink Posh Cake Slice Shaker. It comes with a cute little candle and some confetti too! My favorite cake would be chocolate with chocolate icing, but I decided on a yellow cake for today for a little contrast.

I used an oval die to create a little desert plate for that yummy slice and added a strawberry and some chocolates from the Valentine Mug Additions die set.

I added Streamers to the background and some die cut circles behind the candle so see the glow. A sprinkle of confetti was added to the background but I almost added it to the yellow cake.

The finishing touch is a great big "Celebrate" sentiment because any day with cake is a day to celebrate! I sure hope you join me for the challenges this month at Just Us Girls! I think you'll have lots of fun!

Pretty Pink Posh Instagram Hop & Giveaway!

Adding a frame over the busy background helps define the focal point and draw your eye to that area. The finishing touch is always a sprinkle of jewels! Because we have to have a little eye candy!

Waffle Flower March Release & Giveaway!

Well Hey Cupcake! The wait is over! The latest Waffle Flower release is in the store and just waiting for you! We're calling this one Hey Cupcake! because of the birthday theme!

We've got lots of cupcake designs in this release too! This is the Waffle Flower Die N Stencil Postage Cupcake set. It includes the stencil set as well as the postage cut circle to frame your design. I inked three cupcake circles.

The mint background panel is called Pop Up Stars - it's an older die and has a coordinating stencil called Random Stars. I added gold glitter texture paste to add some sparkle to the design.

To create the scallop panel down the center of the card I used a Mini Slimline Lacy Layer die. If I don't have a border die I will turn to larger nested dies that have a pattern. I cut the border using the edge of the slimline rectangle here.

The finishing touch was the accents.. a candle in the center cupcake, a strawberry for the bottom one, and a cherry on top! These three mini dies were from the Boxed Cupcakes die set.
