CAS-ual Fridays March Release Blog Hop!

 There's lots to show you today - (6) SIX new stamp sets!  I've got three cards to share today starting with this pretty in pink religious wedding card.  The sentiment is from the new Mazel Tov! stamp set that has lots of sentiments for all sorts of celebrations! 
I embossed this pretty wedding sentiment in gold and die cut it with the Scallop Tag Fri Die. This is clean and simple layered on an embossed background and adorned with 4 Petal flowers cut from gold glitter paper.
The next set I played with is the Shalom stamp set.  I created a blue ombre background by stamping the Modern Petals border stamp.  I used the smaller pattern image for this design. A stamping tool made it easy to line everything up.  
Rosh Hashanah is commonly known as the Jewish new year.  The Shalom set has several Jewish sentiments in Hebrew as well as English. 
I used traditional colors of blue and white and added embellishments in gold glitter and foil paper.  The Hanukkah Fri Die set includes these Star of David cuts.

The last card for today shows the Floating set.  It features a hot air balloon made of flowers!
I created a background of fluffy clouds using a border die as a mask.  I colored the balloon with Copic markers and fussy cut it before adhering it with foam tape.

Behind the balloon trails some gold foil hearts cut with the Fun-fetti Fri Die.
The sentiments have a pretty font too - with lots of little hearts accenting the letters.

Tupelo Designs LLC - Floral Heart

Happy Friday!  We're still working on the craft room so I expect we'll be doing more of that this weekend, but it's getting close.  Here's the latest photo.  Updates include a ceiling fan, track lighting, and new desk.
I share this space with my family so the U shape desk is perfect for us.  There are two areas someone can sit in - a third person could sit int eh corner on the left.  We got a few IKEA ALEX cabinets for the drawers.

This ALEX cabinet on wheels provides lots of storage and also slides out from under the desk top so you could even pull up another chair and work.   We'll see how that works out once I get all my things back in place.

So what's next?  The rails for the shelves are going to be longer - I really love that I can change their height as my needs change.  They used to hold CD type cases, now they're holding binders,  who knows what I'll be storing things in later?  These shelves can change with me.   Lots of little details too.. like the molding around the cabinets.

So for now - I'm camped out on a few folding tables, but I'm still making things - and having lots of fun doing it.  Today I'm playing  with the Concord & 9th You Are Here stamp set.  I think this floral heart is GORGEOUS!  I thought I'd play around with coloring it three different ways.  The first (and my favorite) is stamped with Memento ink and colored with Copic Markers.
Next I stamped the image with Versafine Onyx Black and colored it with Watercolors.  I kept a blue background on all three of the cards so you could get an idea of how they are the same and yet very different. 

And last but not least.. I thought I'd give the no line water coloring a go.  I stamped the image with Ranger Distress Antique Linen and then water colored it with the same colors as the previous design.

This one was the most challenging and I painted it twice before I was happy.  It was hard to define the different petals.  It was fun and good practice and I love the end result.

Pretty Little Studio - Yellow Rose


I think the "April Showers" started early here in the Chicago area! That's ok.. if I can't go outside I'll stay in and play. I just got some new goodies from Pretty Little Studio! Have you checked out the "With All My Heart" Collection yet? If that doesn't make your heart happy I dont know what will! The papers are shades of lime, pink, teal and navy. The navy really gives this collection a fresh look that you're going to love!

I started this card with the Brackets You & Me set. The set includes 8 die cut bracket cards with different color borders that compliment the colors in the collection. As a bonus the set includes 8 die cut images including the pretty yellow rose die cut on my card!

To create more interest I decided to split the background paper right down the middle so the seam meets up with the points on the bracket card. I chose papers with pinks to go with the border on the bracket card. The floral pattern is called Adore You (Pink), and the stripes is called Precious.

The pretty die cut sentiment is from the My Heart die cut packet. The lime green printed sentiment was very subtle and not the center of attention that I wanted it to be when I adhered it directly on the bracket card so I added a circle of solid lime card stock beneath it. The bit of solid color peeking out around the edges make the sentiment stand out.

More is always more with me so I added some embellishments. A few pretty die cut flowers from the Floral Bouquet die pack.. and some sparkly Crystal 4mm and Crystal Snow sequins!
