Hi friends! I hope you're having a great day! I've been playing with a new technique (for me!). I've been inking the Momenta Butterfly Embossing folder from the Hello There Butterfly set. The set includes FIVE embossing folders in different sizes for the price other brands charge for one.
I tried different inks and found that they don't all work the same. I really thought pigment inks that stick to the surface of the paper would be the way to go, but in the end dye inks seemed to work best.
To achieve the ombre layers of color inking the folder with small 1" ink cubes worked best. They offered the most control especially in the center portion of the folder.
Darker shades have lots of drama and good coverage. Just ink up the embossing folder, insert white card stock and run it through your die cut machine. You can run it through the machine more than once, but I didn't get clean results doing that.
I trimmed the finished panel, and added colorful mat backgrounds. A corner punch rounding the hard edges of the card adds a fun whimsical look to the design.
Here's a photo of all three finished cards together. I can't pick a favorite. Can you?
