Snailed It Shaker

I'm loving my gnomes lately! These Happy Gnomes from Waffle Flower are my favorites. I love that I can switch them up for different holidays/occasions by changing their outfit colors. This little guy doubles as an amazing Santa too!

I've got ALOT of masking going on with this card.. and I think the little guy with the snail qualifies as a friend.

I stenciled/masked a white cardstock panel using the Layered Mushrooms Stencil. It took some time, but I'm getting more comfortable with stencils. The Thermo-Web Pixie Spray adhesive makes things much easier and my lines are super clean.

I cut a hole in the panel using the Slim Shaker Circles and added rainbow stripes of color behind the open window. A clear shaker circle gets inserted into the scene panel along with some iridescent confetti.

I adhered the snail body and spiral to turn the shaker into the snails shell. The little gnome sits on top with some adhesive foam tape.

Woodland Hello Shaker

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you're enjoying your weekend! Fall is in full swing here in Northwest Indiana! The leaves are falling from the trees and there's lots of yardwork to be done. This time of year I'm working my way through the garden collecting seeds from dried up pea pods and beans. The Gladiolas and Cannas will need to be dug up and dried, furniture and pots covered an put away and LOTS more! I don't mind.. I have my helper - my DH and I enjoy working with my hands and spending time outdoors.

When I get tired it's time for a break and that means sitting down and MAKING! Today I'm playing along at Crafty Catz where it's anything goes - with an optional make it cute!

I think this cute little Happy Gnome qualifies! And not only is she cute.. but my card is a circle and it's a shaker too!

Shakers are made easy with Waffle Flower. I used a 4.25" Circle Shaker - it's a piece of plastic with cut tabs along the outside. Just put some sprinkles inside, add a inky 4.25" cardstock circle, fold over and secure the tabs and BAM! You have a shaker!

I adhered the assemble shaker to a large scallop circle and added all the die cut and colored images to the plastic cover of the shaker. It came together really fast! Gotta love that!

Prayers for Strength

TGIF! It's been a LONG week! Maybe you need a little pick me up or extra prayers for strength! The weekend is almost here! Hang in there.. give it time and hopefully tomorrow brings a new perspective with the new day!

My card starts with a rainbow background - I cut LOTS of Skinny Strips with a border die cut. It was a great way to use up some scraps and the die cuts lots of strips all at one time. I put them in the envelope with the die so I have more the next time I want to use them.

I topped the rainbow with some stacked Slim Shaker Circles to create a sunshine for the rainbow. An oversized "Prayers" and subsentiment convey my message for strength!

A butterfly and flourishes from the Flourish Butterfly die set make great contrasting elements cut from white cardstock.

The finishing touch is always some bling.. enamel dots this time - to repeat the white and add some contrast.
