SugarPea Designs Mix It Up Challenge - Hey Winter!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you're having a great day! I know lots of us are super busy this week with Thanksgiving. Today I'm baking up a storm.. pumpkin pie, and apple pie.. and prepping anything I can get done ahead of time for the big feast!
When I'm tired of standing and washing dishes I'll take a break and do some crafting. It helps me unwind and relax. If you need a little "down time" too you should check out the SugarPea Designs challenge! There are three different ways you can play.. use the photo for inspiration, follow the sketch or work with the color swatches.
I was inspired by the colors.. the pretty greens and neutrals morphed into a forest winter scene with the Hey Winter bear taking center stage. I think he's adorable. I love that I can deck him out in a warm sweater and fun cap. I used a razor knife to cut the outline of his paw so I could tuck a candy cane in there.
The background is inky swoops created with the border die in the Card Front Element Builder set. I used it as a mask to ink the hills. I started by inking a white card panel with light green ink (Twisted Citron) and then inking the hills with a darker shade (Mowed Lawn).
I added lots of pine trees and a bitty Zig Zag Stitched Circle sunshine. A few sparkling clear sequins float through the air as the snow begins to fall.
I sure hope you'll join me over at SugarPea Designs blog. You could win a $50 gift certificate to the store just for linking up your design, and seriously.. who couldn't use that about now?

Momenta Christmas Snowglobe

Hi friends! I know there's lots going on this time of year! The "to do" list seems to go on and on. I've found that a great way to relieve stress is to do some crafting. It's a sweet escape that can take you anyplace you want to be.
If you're on a limited budget like me sometimes it's hard to afford all the craft supplies you'd like.. especially around the holidays when any extra dollars are being spent making sure that the rest of your family is comfy and cozy with a few sweet surprises. You'll find lots of beautiful Momenta dies, stamps and embossing folders ready for your holiday cards at your local Hobby Lobby. They're affordably priced and YES! you can use your store coupon! SCORE!
During my last visit to Hobby Lobby I found lots of new Momenta Holiday dies, stamps and embossing folders. These products are exclusive to Hobby Lobby and you won't find them anywhere else.

This pretty, intricate snow globe dis is a must have. I cut it from white card stock and layered it over a distress inked panel. I cut it again with gold foil and then inserted the bows and letters into the openings of the white die cut.
I repeated the gold inlay pieces by adding a gold glitter matt behind the inky panel so this card has lots of shine! I can't resist a little bling all year round!
If you don't have a Hobby Lobby close by, you'll find several other great Momenta products  at lots of your favorite local stores and on line. It's always a nice surprise to see what you'll find!

25 Days of Christmas Tags - Birch Press Design

Do you love Christmas Tags? You absolutely need to check out Tracey Mc Neely's 25 Days of Christmas Tags. This is the 9th year of this event and Tracey has a sponsor for each and every day as well as prizes to give away. It's also a great way to get ideas to create tags with products from your favorite paper crafting stores.
Today's sponsor is Birch Press Design! Birch Press Design is known for their beautiful layered die cuts. This die is from the Splendor Cover Plate Set.
I selected the most open plate of the three die set. I cut it once on white card stock backed with packing tape. The tape helps prevent the die from cutting all the way through the paper. I cut it a second time from gold foil paper.
I inked the white die cut panel with Copic Markers before layering it with the gold die cut. I added gold gems at some of the intersecting die cut lines. The new Honey Script word dies are gorgeous. This "joy" sentiment is only one of many that are available.

You'll find more designs made with Birch Press Designs products, and get details on how to link up your own designs at the 25 Days of Christmas Tags blog here.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
