Simple Stories My Story Collection

I know you appreciate all the good things in life and maybe you're a little selfish about your time like me. I love to craft, cook, garden, and yes READ. I appreciate the simple things in life and I'll take a sweet escape wherever I can find one!

The Simple Stories My Story Collection is a celebration of the every day. It's about making your own way and writing your own story, taking time to reflect and decide what's best for you.

The colors in the collection are shades of orange and aqua with a pop of green. And this collection has it all... papers, chipboard, die cut printed bits and pieces images, washi, decorative brads, enamel dots and more.

  

I try to select images that I think work well together to create scenes. I used circle tags as frames for wall hangings - and arrange books and houseplants.

The different papers in the collection are perfect for faux wallpaper and table cloths helping set the scene.

There's even paper that looks like library shelves loaded with books complete with little plants and a globe tucked in between them.

I love the little eye glasses and coffee cups. Every little detail just perfect!

I used a journaling card as a focal point for this little cafe scene. A tag with a scallop edge becomes an awning topped with florals.

You Always Know How To Make Me Feel Better

It's another cold rainy day here in the Midwest. I'm trying to focus on the bright side.. all the bulbs that will begin to grow! I'm also playing along at "Beyond The Blue" Challenge where they're looking for FLOWERS!

These florals are Waffle Flower Narcissus and they're so pretty! I colored mine with Copic markers in shades of yellow.

Now for the background! I was originally leaning to garden green but couldn't resist the contrast of the blue with the yellow. The Elongated Hex panel is gold hot foil. It's got a coordinating stencil tat makes coloring the inside easy. I added a Nuvo glitter paste to the insides of the hex to add little hex shaped jewels.

I added a frame along the outside of the card with the Nesting Stitched Rectangles set.

I attached the florals with adhesive foam tape and the leaves flat to the card base. I like the dimension this adds. The sentiment is from the Hello Friend stamp set. I love that the coordinating die cuts around the words making them look fussy cut.

Hang On To Love

February is over but it's never too late to spread a little love. Today I'm sharing a card made with the Perfect Match Valentine Kit from Pretty Little Studio.

The kit has got a little bit of everything.. pattern papers, die cut sentiments and images, stickers, tags, labels, tabs and even a few flairs!  And.. the best part of all is that everything is color matched to work together beautifully!

I started with a split pattern paper background and topped it with a 3x4" piece of pink gingham paper to create a focal point.

I added two die cut scallop borders along the left edge and then layered on die cuts.  A big heart with a sentiment takes center stage.  A few florals are scattered around the heart as embellishments.
