The Cut Shoppe Swap - Ho Ho Ho!

Oh Happy Day!! Pretty Little Studio has teamed up with The Cut Shoppe! All week we're showing projects made with products from both companies. The Cut Shoppe has loads of amazing digital dies to choose from!

My card has lots of pretty papers from the Holiday Cheer Collection! I added a little vellum over the pattern papers to create more layers. The musical print always seems like the perfect accent at Christmas time!

A journaling card with Santa is the perfect setting for the Ho Ho Ho! die cut from the Cut Shoppe! I cut the digi die to 3.723" Tall x 2.659 Wide in gold foil paper. The holidays always call for some sparkle and shine! Some sequins never hurt either. I added some red (Gift Wrap) and green (Tree Topper) to compliment the traditional colors on this card.

Pretty Little Studio has lots of Christmas and Santa face flairs. This one is from the Kris Kringle Buttons set. Honestly when you see them you might want them all! I added a lacy 4" Cambridge Doily under the journaling card - it reminds me of a fancy cut snowflake!
Wishing you a bright and merry holiday season!

Pretty Little Studio and Just Nick Product Swap - My Happy

I admit I don't use my Silhouette Cameo nearly as much as I should. It was a big investment and I wasn't making the most of it so when this opportunity came up at Pretty Little Studio to do a product swap with Just Nick I was really excited. I admit I was a bit rusty with the functions of my machine, but my teamies were really encouraging and promised to help me if I got stuck. I'm happy to report that I made it without any assistance.. well maybe just a little. I couldn't find the tool to adjust the blade on my machine, but I found a helpful tip on line. Did you know that the storage area for your blade can also be used to adjust it! Very clever right? A life saver!

I started by cutting the Rosette Background. I'm sorry that I didn't make a note of the size (remember I'm a newbie) the finished size of the die cut is approximately 5" x 4 1/2". Next I backed all the floral openings with paper from the Pretty Little Studio Marigold Collection. I chose patterns that had the most color so they would be bold enough to peek through the white die cut.
I cut the "You are My Happy" sentiment 2 1/2" tall from white paper. It got lost when I layered it over the floral so I colored it with a Krylon 18 Kt Gold Marker.
To make the beautiful cut image pop I added some teal "Blue Bells" vellum and a Cambridge 4" Doily to the right side of the design.
I added some "Stems" leaves to the corners of the design. I love that there is a solid and an outline so you can layer them if you like.
The finishing touch was some stars from the Here Comes the Sun Die Cuts "Label Medley" and some pretty pink sequins from the "Baby Claire" confetti mix.
I hope seeing all the designs this week inspire you to dust off your electric cutting machine. I'm so glad I did! Both companies have a sale going on so you can try the products...
