Grandma's Teapot

Hi friends! Thanks for stopping by! I don't know if I've said it before but I'm a big fan of tea. I love it cold on ice in the summer and hot and steaming in the winter. And one of my most favorite dies in the Poppystamps collection is Grandma's Teapot.
Today I thought I'd share a little "behind the scenes" of my creative process. All of my cards always start out with the images arranged on a piece of clear plastic the size of my card base. This allows me to move them around until I'm happy with the arrangement.

I like to cut LOTS of die cuts in different colors - especially leaves and flowers. This gives me lots to choose from and any extras I store with the die in it's envelope.
The clear sheet gives me the ability to pick up the entire arrangement and layer it over different backgrounds until I find one I like. In this case I chose blue.
My little teapot is layered over a Brilliant Ring die cut. I think it looks a little like a saucer! I surrounded Grandma's Teapot with pretty florals from the Fern & Daisy Pop Up Easel. This set includes flowers, leaves and little butterflies too!
Everything is layered over the new Lattice Plate that makes me think of a pretty tablecloth, completing the scene.
I think this will make a great Mother's Day or simple "hello" for one of the Grand Dame's in my life.

I was thinking that looked like a saucer before you even said it! Such a fabulous arrangement of elements. Thank you for the tips!
