Your The Bubbles In My Tea

Today I'm playing along at The Card Concept where you have your choice of challenges. I'm playing along with the Cozy New Year inspiration photo..

I confess that the only warm drink I have this time of year would be a hot cocoa. But what I really want is something on ice.. a diet Coke, a Vanilla Crème Frappuccino or an Iced Tea.

So I made an black milk Boba tea with foam and a cherry. I stayed with the colors of the challenge - brown white and red (the cherry). I decided on the green straw because the color just pops!

This is the Cool Drink to Go from Pink & Main. It includes dies ready to assemble your favorite drink in layers. You can use the plastic dome lid if you have topping or the flat cup cap ready for your straw. The dies include the Boba, ice cubes and the cherry too! The fun papers with the cocoa beans and grid pattern are from the Donut Forget paper pack, and the fancy corners are from the Fun Corners die set that includes 9 different corners to choose from. The finishing touch is a sprinkle of Ballroom Gems.

For An Amazing Friend!

Today I'm playing at the Beautiful Blossoms Challenge where it's anything goes with an optional mood board photo of some very colorful flowers! I'm playing along with some pretties from Pretty Pink Posh!

I started by arranging the teacup and flowers on a piece of plastic the size of my card base. This gives me a preview of what the finished design will look like without committing and adhering everything in place.

The clear plastic also allows me to slip different backgrounds underneath until I find one that makes me happy. For this card I wanted something light so that the flowers would pop, but not too light so that the white tea cup would disappear. A blush color was the perfect solution!

The background is a Scallops Pierced Plate. It adds lots of interest to a plain flat background. It can be a little tricky to adhere. I find that tape adhesive doesn't work so well with a textured background so I always use a liquid glue.

I'm so happy with how this card turned out! I hope you find some time to play too!

You'll Always Be My Bes-Tea

If you ask me coffee or tea it will be tea every time! Hand me a pretty cup and saucer and I'm in heaven. It reminds me of having tea parties with my grandma and pretending that I was as adult and sophisticated as she was. That's why I am smitten with the Pink & Main Tea Time die set.

The set includes a teapot and cup with all the extras. The cup has two handles so you can make it left or right handed. There is not a saucer for the cup so I double cut the trim on the bottom of the teapot and flipped it up side down to make a saucer.

The set includes a spoon, lemon slice, tea bag, and sugar cubes too! I cut the cubes from glitter paper so they sparkle like the real thing! I added a flower and leaves to the design from the Fancy Frame die set.

To add a feminine touch to this design for my Bes-Tea I placed the images on a Scalloped Circle that's layered over floral and plaid papers. A swirl of "steam" pearls are placed above the spout of the teapot and a Tea Time sentiment finishes off the design. There are so many wonderful sentiments in the stamp set that you'll be hard pressed to select a favorite.

Spill The Tea

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you're having a great day! Today I'm sending smiles with the new Spill the Tea stamp set from Pink and Main! This set includes lots of tea themed images that are sure to have you smiling!

My card starts with a cheery background of mixed pattern papers from the Bright Botanicals 6x6" Paper Pad. I usually cut a 4x5.25" panel for my card base leaving 2" strips of extra paper that are perfect for adding along the border and side of my design.

I used a Reverse Scallop Circle to create a focal point for the images. I added Vellum paper to the reverse of the circle to create a flat shaker that I added gold sequins to. The vellum allows you to still see the sequins, adding a little whimsy to the design.

The images were colored with alcohol markers that are great for blending. I kept the colors similar to the background papers to coordinate the design. The finishing touch was some glittery Let It Bee enamel dots.

I love these cute images and think this card will be great to send to a friend with a gift card to their favorite coffee shop tucked inside for a treat! Have a great day and keep smiling!

Spellbinders May 2023 Quick & Easy Card Kit

With the new year comes a few changes to the kit. You might notice the price is about $10 less than last year. That's because the die kit and stamp set that were included in the past will no longer be in the kit. I think this is a good idea because honestly I never really used the stamps because there are so many sentiments in the kit. I will miss the die but for the savings it seems like a good trade off.

The kit this time features spring images - think flowers, fruits, birds, butterflies and the cutest little frogs ever! The quiet of winter is gone and the outdoors are alive with activity!

The colors in the kit are primarily pastel pinks and blues with pops of green and navy for some contrast.

This card features a yummy birthday cake, donuts and a stack of tea cups ready for company to arrive and celebrate the birthday girl!

I mentioned the cute little frogs - check out this little guy - or is it a girl with those eyelashes?

I imagine the frog saying "gimme a kiss!" LOL!
