Pretty Little Studio - Maui

Today’s Feature Friday is Frames! The Pretty Little Studio shop has pre-cut frames in several of the collections ready to work with making designing a breeze. I used frames from the Let’s Go! France set to make a shaker. I layered two frames on top of each other with a sheet of acrylic between the two.

I added adhesive foam tape to the back of the frame and adhered it to one of the Pocket Cards from the You & Me Collection “Sweetheart” set featuring a bride and groom. I left an opening at the top so I could add my sequins before sealing it completely.I wanted to make a special honeymoon card with a travel theme for the newlyweds. The Flair is from the Let’s Go! Florence set.

For the fancy bit of lace underneath I cut the center from a 4″ Cambridge Doily and then zig zag folded it securing it behind the flair.
I have two sentiments on this card – one is a Ticket from the Let’s Go! Define. Travel. set, and the second is a sentiment I created using Stickers : Valentine Words.I’m primarily a card maker, so while I love the Gold Foil Lace Doilies, they are a bit big for my designs. That doesn’t stop me from adding this beautiful accent to my designs. I trim off small parts and save the rest for my next project.
The bit of gold adds so much elegance to everything.I usually add bits of vellum to my layouts too. The background paper is from the Let’s Go Collection
I added a floral vellum paper called “Maui”. I love all the color it adds yet at the same time it lets the words from the bottom layer peek through. Maui sounds like a perfect place for a Honeymoon doesn’t it?

Thanks for stopping by for a peek! I hope you have a great day!

Once again, I'm officially rendered speechless with the 'everything' of this card that will head into a newlywed couples' 'treasured gifts' collection. Gorgeous...and the time you invested in making it so adds to the impact! A purpose for everything and everything for a purpose...Kim's comment makes me laugh, but she's on to something *grin*
