Poppystamps November Challenge - Home for the Holidays

A new challenge begins today at Poppystamps.  The theme this month is Home for the Holidays. They're looking for projects that show what this means to you.  You have to include at least one Poppystamps image on your project (die or stamp).  I sure hope everybody knows who Poppystamps is by now!    They were created by Memory Box designer Dave Brethauer.   So you probably have some of their dies in your stash and may not even know it.  They're packaged the same - the envelope they come in is green vs. the blue you're used to seeing from Memory Box.
Home for the Holidays to me means cold weather outside, warm house filled with good scents of baking, laughter of times spent with good friends, and a surprise around every corner.  Whether it's a card from a friend, or a special ornament dug out of the box making you remember a special moment in time.
I used lots of dies on this one.  I made a little kitchen scene on a matt made from the tag decoration sets.  I added detail to the pears with distress ink, and defined the stripe on the bowls with a Copic marker.

I hope you find some time to play along - it's a great way to see different ways to use your dies, and maybe win some new ones for your collection.  You can get all the details here - or click at the tab at the top of the Poppy blog that says "Challenge".

Your words and your card both have me feeling all warm and fuzzy inside! The scent of homemade baking, the laughter of family...yes, definitely the sings I associate with 'home.' I'm hoping my mom will indulge in some Christmas cheer this year, as last year was spent predominately in the hospital, at my dad's bedside. Not a 'festive' Christmas by any stretch, although my niece and nephew did make spirits brighter. I'll have start making baking requests for when we visit...shortbread, gingerbread, cinnamon buns...that should get mom smiling!
