It's seriously a very gloomy day here in the Chicago area. I was ready for the grey November sky - it will be like this for a month - and still November is my favorite time of year... but today it's windy and rainy on top of the grey skies. Where we live is in the path of lots of migratory birds. I was shocked when I let Moriko outside earlier. I wish I could play you a tape of what the woods behind the house sound like today. It's like the birds have decided to make a stop over here and wait out the rain. The chirping is loud and there have to be hundreds of birds!
When I saw the cue word at CASology I thought I'd dig out some PRETTY flowers to brighten my day. That is the biggest perk of crafting - I can paint my world any color I like! I miss my garden of flowers but the foliage is still turning - most of it is gone - the oaks and a few other trees are hanging on as long as they can.
These two stamp flowers with a pop of yellow and a sprinkle of pearls absolutely fit the bill for today!

Oh, I think I need to visit you! I didn't know you have woods behind the house. A little rain often makes the birding better and I'm so glad it brightened your day. Your card definitely fits the bill for 'pretty'. Love the cheerful yellow!
Your surroundings sound beautiful, with the closeness of the woods and the singing birds. We, too, are surrounded by forests, but they're not places I want to walk alone. Big furry critters...no thanks! Given the snow enveloping us, I can tell you that your pretty flowers are having a most profound impact! You have me thinking of summer days and I'm feeling all warm and toasty (and it's not the long johns doing it *grin*)
