I'm the lucky guest designer this month at Color Throwdown! I've never been big on color challenges...you'd laugh to see how I start. I pull out a piece of paper in each of the colors and just stare at them... hmmm.. whats red, orange, purple and yellow? Thank goodness they've got folks like me figured out! I can look at the inspiration photo and draw from that! Thank you Color Throwdown!!!
I made an anniversary card starting with a clean white background of embossing (We R Memory Keepers Quilted) and lace! I embossed the top half of the card and then layered on a pretty doily (Cheery Lynn Mandy Doily) to look like the lace on that gorgeous wedding dress in the photo.
I like layers, and didn't want a completely clean white background so I decided to add some purple accents. I don't see enough purple - it's so hard to find pattern paper that color! (This paper is Kaiser kraft Wildflower Collection 12"). To break up the white cardstock and pattern paper I added a border of solid purple cardstock cut with the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Borders 2 die. It's so elegant!
I inked up the Altenew Vintage Roses in Reds, Yellows and Oranges. This was the first set I got by them and I'm still in love with it! Who knew the leaves in purple would look so beautiful with the colorful roses? A sprinkle of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins shine like diamonds!
