Waltzingmouse November Blog Hop - Christmas Tag

Are you Waltzing?  On the 17th of every month Waltzingmouse Stamps hosts a blog waltz.  The theme this month is ...   are you ready? .... wait for it.....  CHRISTMAS!  Now if you know Claire (Waltzingmouse owner and stamp designer EXTRAORDINAIRE) you know Christmas is her favorite holiday.   In fact I think there are more Waltzingmouse Christmas stamps than stamps for any other occasion.  So it just goes to follow that everyone will be pulling all the stops to bring their best and most festive to this waltz.  There's lots of Waltzingmouse goodness to choose from so yo can't go wrong.  You can get all the details as well as the links to all the other blogs participating at:  http://waltzingmouse.blogspot.com/. 

I know everyone is in a hurry to make it through the list of bloggers (I expect lots of participants this month!) so I will keep this short.  I made this Christmas tag to put on a very special present - sorry TOP SECRET - no peeking, no telling.   The purple bow is 1.5" wired ribbon, topped with a gold loom bow.  I wanted the ornament to look like vintage glass so I sugared the inside with Martha Stewart crystal fine glitter and added a little gem.    I hope you like it!  Can't wait to see all the fab goodies everyone came up with!

Case Study Challenge #65 - Butterfly Flutter

I'm trying to squeeze this one in under the wire.  Here's the Case Study Challenge sketch by the November  muse / designer Kryssi Ng.  Competition ends at Midnight today - hope it's not Australia time or I'm done for!

Here's my take on the sketch:

I double stamped each of the butterflies and fussy cut them to add some dimension.  I made the antennae with colored wire and added pearls and gems that I colored with a Copic marker to get them just the right shade of turquoise.  I didn't have a sentiment stamp that suited me so I made my own in Word.

Sorry this is so last minute - in fact I'm not sure I even made it in time.

Play Date Cafe PDCC107 - Reach for the Sky!

Happy Tuesday!!  I'm having a busy day already... washing clothes, baking chicken for the dog (you read it right - no dog food for my girl), and finally some chocolate chip cookies in the oven for a friend who is meeting with my daughter to help her with an interview for one of her classes.  Had to take a few minutes to dress them up with a bow and some twine with die cut leaves and beads.  Still had a little time left over to make a card.

Are you ready  for a Play Date Cafe Challenge?  Here's the inspiration photo - Black, White and a Splash of Orange!  I'm challenging myself here - not just with the sketch but to use some stamps I've picked up here and there and haven't been using.  If you have a Michael's store near you maybe you've seen the circus stamps they've had in the dollar bins.  I just can't resist when I see a neat stamp at a can't go wrong price.  I think that's why they put them by the checkout - like candy bars for the kids - just to tempt me!  The problem is that I keep buying them and not using them.   Well not this time!
